I am going to Paris and London in Sept for the first time and I am trying to figure out what to wear for shoes that would be comfortable for walking but also stylish. I will prob just wear sneakers with jeans but I also am going to wear dresses and I am not going to wear sneakers with those. Normally I would wear flip flops but have been reading people in Paris don't really wear flip flops. Any suggestions?

Hi

My advice would be to go for whatever you feel most comfortable in, bearing in mind that you will be doing a huge amount of walking around the parks. As you are going in September I would also consider taking some sort of waterproof footwear (although you can always buy Disney wellingtons if necessary and for that matter, great sneakers too) as IMHO there is nothing worse than having to spend the day in wet shoes if you are unlucky enough to experience rain. Certainly you do sometimes see people wearing flip-flops but I imagine it is rare simply because people don't find them comfortable for the serious walking involved.:)

I get very painful feet after lots of walking, to combat this I go for either proper walking sandals or shoes, or Crocs as I find they support my feet well. Now that Crocs do more stylish shoes there are a lot to choose from. As for walking sandals, Merrils are good as are a make called Keane. If I were you I would go an outdoors shop and try a load on. Oh and I,ve seen some really pretty Fitflop shoes that are so comfy but super stylish too.......i love shoes......

Why don't you want to wear your flipflops? In summer I also wear them under my dresses.

Last weekend I walked around with high heels, wedges. For me they're very nice for walking, but I wear them everyday.
For the rest I adore walking around with my converse all-stars, even under a dress in summer (law version of the all stars)

Just wear shoes that fits you, and where you can walk with for hours (and stand still for an hour to watch the show or the parade).

In Paris or in DLP ?

If it's Paris no people don't wear flip flops much, flip flops are for the beach not for walking all day on pavements and cobblestones but if you are confortable in them that is all that matters. Though if you are not used to walking everywhere you might be wearing your trainers a lot more than what you though

With long dresses I wear sandals with a medium heel or wedges or if it's a short dress ballerina type pumps or a kitten heel.

:)

In Paris itself. In DLP I will wear my flip flops I am not too worried about there lol. I haven incredibly comfortable Reefs and Rocket Dogs I wear on all my Disney trips and most vacations as well as home in the summer because they are so comfortable. The only reason I don't want to wear them in Paris itself is because from what I have been reading they don't wear them there and I don't want to stick out lol. My dresses will prob be knee length. I was thinking ballerina flats or nice croc sandals that look pretty. Just wasn't sure if there was any specific brands or anything that people there wear.

At home I do wear heels pretty well every day and have no issues but I have tried on vacation in NYC and they killed my feet so for a lot of walking I don't think I could do it. Not sure if there is any kind of insoles you can buy that remedy this though.

You'll be fine in the ballerina flats and the croc sandals :goodvibes

And you'll see everything and anything out and about especially on the tourists ;)

I couldn't sight see either in my normal everyday shoes ,even if I'm walking alot it's on carpeted floors in offices so a very different scenario to pavements. Don't know of any insoles but it would be a good thing to invent :goodvibes
