Hi EVERYONE

I need some advice on passes. The DW and I are going to WDW in a few weeks for 12 days. Although we are planning on some R&R wew ill going to the parks alot. What tickets would be the best ? 10 day world pass? ap? 30 day world pass? 7 day park hopper ?

Do you get the most advantage from the AP?
Do you have to wait an the same lines to enter the park with an AP?

Thanks So much

Why wouldn't you purchase an annual pass? Unless you aren't going to the parks for more than a few times during the trip.

If you were a Florida resident, I'd suggest the new (and temporary) 4-Park Hopper passes.

Either way, enjoy your trip!

If water parks and Pleasure Island don't interest you, your most economical option is an annual pass.

You can go into any line to enter the park. They all have the finger scanners that AP's require.

So you are saying I should get an annual pass because its the most economical ?

I would say that we would go to the parks 10 days out of our trip if we had the pass.

An annual pass is the best option if you are going spend more than 8 days out of a 365 day period at WDW. They have 2 types of annual passes-one is the regular annual pass which gives you unlimited access to the 4 major parks. The other is the premium annual pass which gives you access to the 4 major parks, plus the water parks and Pleasure Island. Obviously, the premium is more expensive.

DH and I have regular annual passes. We generally go to PI once in a trip, and may or may not go a water park during a trip(we tend to be there in Janaury a lot, which is not always water park weather!). The difference in cost between the premium annual pass and the regular annual pass is still more than if DH and I go to PI and a water park and pay the one time fee.

If you are big PI or water park people though, get the premium, as it is a huge savings over any other ticket medium.

I think 8 days is the "break" point on passes. If you will be spending more than 7 days in the park, an annual pass is less expensive.

You can also get a premium annual pass which includes admission to the water parks and Disney Quest. I just buy your run of the mill annual pass though. I love my annual pass :)

You will have it then, just in case you decide to make another visit to the parks later in the year. Be warned that an annual pass tends to burn a hole in your pocket. The temptation to return to WDW to use that AP again, is very strong. I'm giving in to temptation in May, August and December this year :teeth:

If you plan to spend 8 or more days in the parks you will save money by buying an annual pass.

LOL Disney Doll, we must have been typing at the same time :p

If you arent't planning to return to the world in the next year, then the 30 day pass might be a good idea. Paramount has it for only $310; much less than the PAP.

Is the 30 day pass new, I just read a thread where it was mentioned the other day prior to that I had never heard of it. At 310.00 it sounds like a great deal. Is it just for the 4 parks or are there any of those flex features? Where can I find out more about it? Our AP expires in August:D

Thanks,
Alice

I think this is a pass normally marketed to folks outside the US. However www.gopitravel.com has it if you phone their office. Mary at www.mousesavers.com has some info on it I believe. And several posters have been positive about paramount internationals service (especially Rosa). I'm buying some AP's and some other tickets for our family December trip, and if the 30 day tickets are available, I plan to buy two for my oldest DS and his GF. They are much more likely to be able to get a lot out of it (burning the oil at all ends!), and it's cheaper than the 10-day pass!

We recently bought three 30 day world passes from Paramount international travel for 310.00 ea. It includes all parks, water parks, DQ, PI, kennedy space center and some musuems, plus free breakfest. The PAP is 520.00, so that is a big savings! If we were planning to visit again within a year we would of bought the PAP's. This pass is great for us because we will be at WDW for 16 days. Check www.mousesavers.com for the AP discount codes for resorts. Some people find that the hotel discount justifies the AP. You'll just have to do the math for your situation.
Have Fun!

I would buy AP's. They cost about the same as a 7 day park hopper. ;) And then you'll have a good reason to go back again soon!!! :)

Would it make more sense for the value to get a 30 day world pass if I am not planning on going back within a years time ?

That's the key right there. Depends on whether you figure that you are returning. Remember, the 30 Days pass is $310, but the annual pass is only $392. So, if you are going to come back again and stay a few days, it's definitely worth the annual pass. Plus, with an AP you get discounts at the WDW resorts and some retail locations within the 'world' if I'm not mistaken.

At any rate, it's up to you and when you will be returning. If the AP is the same as my Seasonal Florida Annual Pass, then it does not begin to count your year until the first day that you use it. So, keep that in mind in case your next trip is around the same time next year or a little earlier.

We are heading down in July for 10 nights. I looked into all the various pass options and decided to get an AP. With Disney Club membership it it $377. I decided not to get the PAP because it would still be cheaper to pay seperate admission for us, then to pay the difference in the 2 passes. But of course, everones "visiting" plans are different.
For me, it worked out great because of the room discounts, I was able to add a week long April trip and it wasn't costing me any more than what my original July trip was (does that make sense?) In other words, because of the AP, I am able to make 2 trips for the price of one. Plus I'm thinking of sneaking in a February trip....;)

Have you decided on a resort yet?? If you are staying on property, check the price of the hotel with & without the AP discount. If you are staying 12 nights, that discount is really going to add up.
Only one of you needs the AP in order to qualify for the discount. It might work for whoever is making the reservations to get the AP & the other one to get a regular multi-day hopper. You would have to do the math on whatever resort you choose, but it sounds like the way to go.
Let us know what you decide!
If you are staying off property, none of this applies. Just get the cheapest tickets for the amount of days you need them.

The BEST option for you would be to purchase the AP because it offers GREAT wdw resort discounts, up to 45%!! Considering a 12 day trip, this could save you a lot of $$$. Also, the AP offers discounts on wdw merchandise at selected locations, including the World of Disney at Downtown Disney.

If you already have ressies thru CRO, try to find out if they have AP rates for that time period, then switch your ressie. You don't need to have an AP to make ressie, just make sure you buy one before you check in! We bought ours as soon as we got off the plane at Disney store in Orlando International Airport.

Also, with an AP, you'll have an excuse to get to WDW as many times as you can afford within 1 year!

We decided to ge the 30 day world pass from Paramount (Rosa) for 310 each. This pass is like an ultimate park hopper for 30 consecutive days. Since we will not be returing during the next year this was the best value.

I would like to thank everyone for their comments.
