What type of owners do we have.....

Just wondering what type of owners/families bought into DVC. I cant imagine how DH and I could of afforded it with the kids still at home but I notice from these boards that a lot of families have little ones.

It seems like only we "empty nesters" have time to respond by 10:35 AM- that is 4 of us so far, the most of any group!

We bought when they were 10 & 12 years old.


And yes (sigh), we wish we would have bought sooner.

I purchased as a single, before I got married. Now I have a wonderful husband and a beautiful little girl to spoil! I love DVC!

I'm single and purchased in 1998. I take care of my Mom, so her and I enjoy our trips. I own 500 points.

We just joined have 5 children 31 to 13 and 6 grandchildren 3 & under. We have all catagories of ages! Looking forward to March 05 when we make first visit with our 13 & 22 yr old. and April 06 when "ALL" will be going!

Married with no kids -- yet. We decided to make the investment now before we started getting wrapped up in other expenses related to raising kids and then later decided that we couldn't afford it. Yes, it is great to set aside money for school, etc. But, after we had done all of that, we decided that it was also important to invest in having some fun time together as a family. Very excited about our decision. My memories of family vacations were some of my happiest from childhood and I want the same for our future kids.

Me, DH, DD17 and DS13. My teenagers are Disney burned out. They agreed (as if they have a choice) that they would go on our extended family vacation to WDW next November if they don't have to go into any of the parks. They just wanna hang out at SAB, the Boardwalk, Downtown Disney and maybe go to Universal. I think I can live with that.

I voted "mostly teenagers", but when we joined, we had "majority under 8"! (We joined in '93.)

We just joined we are a family of 6 the kids ages are 14, 10, 9 and 2. We have been to Disney 4 times with 3 of the kids. We stayed off site 3 times and at Dixie Landings once. The youngest just made her first trip in February. All of the kids love Disney so DVC provided us an affordable way that we can stay in Disney for many many years.

I voted couple with kids all out of the home, but one DS is in college. So, I guess ours should be "most kids out of the home, with 1 part timer who comes back when he is out of money and/or laundry".

...or whenever we go to WDW!

He was 15 when we bought.

For us none of the above really applies..I voted couple with teenagers...

We have a DD18-college student, and DD11 - I also thought about counting my DH40 (going on 8) but that's for another poll.

The kids age difference is one of the reasons we have found WDW to be a perfect place for us to vacation....

My DH and I were married in Aug 2002. we bought BCV in Feb 2003 and just added SSR on my birthday( what a great gift) April 2, 2004.
