This is what I would like to see a total of four attractions.

1. Flying Coaster Like Manta or Superman at ixflags GA: No major story needed you are simply flying over the scenic world of Pandora.

2. A dark ride using POTC ride system.

3. A clone of this from TDS Auqatopia

4. A 4D film.

i would like to see A a coaster.

B. something truly new and innovated like the concept water ride that uses ride Dinosaur system.

C. night time jungle attraction.

D. a WoC like night time show

trackless ride system, with different paths and variation effects.
Dark ride so nighttime pandora.
Inline seating, so you could mimic being on the horse thing..

Flying coster to mimic the flying creatures thru the flying mountains.

(i suck with names)

I'd Love a flying coaster don't get me wrong, I just can't see disney doing it. But imagine flying through and then seeing Audio-Animatronics in Pandora. It would be Amazing if pulled off.

None of the above. I'm hoping they come up with something new and mind-blowing.

Also, Auqatopia is simply not that great a ride. It's not a bad ride, mind you, but there's nothing special about it that makes it worth cloning, especially for Avatar.

i was hoping for australia with a flume ride

so maybe a flume ride

The thing about a roller coaster is that Disney never builds "just a roller coaster". They always theme it with a story and usually they really focus on that aspect. So a flying roller coaster, which is already difficult to pull off, would require brake sections to allow scenes and what not. Personally, I'd like to see them maybe utilize the split track system, which creates a dueling like coaster during certain periods, or maybe a medium sized hyper coaster with launch hills. Another notable thing is that they would never just put a roller coaster in the middle of the skyline, they tend to try to keep it lower height, but I would not mind at all a tall coaster.

My personal vision is either an DL Indy Clone with Avatar theme, or even better, a suspended coaster. Both of these could utilize the story of a "tour of Pandora" where you follow through and "things go wrong" with the various creatures attacking or they could follow the first movie plot and have the riders get involved in the battle of Pandora and what not.

I would have to believe that there would be a ride based on the Toruk. I would be amazing to have something technology wise like Forbidden Journey. It would give it an unbelievably smooth ride.

I would love to see a flying coaster, but i can't see it happening because as a whole they have not been very popular and lots of people are freaked out by them.

I want a ride that is innovative and I leave saying "Wow!" Don't care if it's a coaster, simulator, dark ride, whatever. I want to see Disney do something that makes us think they are the best in the business again.

BTW, I think anyone expecting an extreme thrill ride better stop holding their breath now. Disney's mantra is to make rides for everyone. That doesn't mean it can't be a great ride. I think to when I first rode Spiderman at IOA back in 2000, a ride for ages 8 to 80 yet an awesome experience.

Beyond that, I want to see the "land" feel like a fully formed land. Not like something that had it's budget cut half-way through. Something with at least three or four attractions. (Even if one of them is just a playground.)

Since they're talking about multiple rides and other attractions, I'm hoping we get a little bit of everything. I don't need an extreme thrill ride -- but I think a top-notch E-ticket ride is going to exclude at least the littlest kids, Disney seems to have no problem with the occasional 44-inch ride in its parks.

In any case, I'm with you -- as I said earlier, I'd like to have my mind blown. I want something I've never seen before. And I want a fully-formed well-themed land.

What I do NOT want:

1. No 3D/4D attraction. The technology is available at any neighborhood movie theater and many living rooms. I'm not arguing for removal of any of Disney's current shows but there's just nothing groundbreaking about it anymore to warrant a theme park attraction.

(Given Cameron's affinity for 3D technology and history with Terminator 3D, I put the odds at greater than 50/50 that we will get some form of 3D experience. Disney being able to market "an exclusive Avatar 3D experience from James Cameron!" may be reason enough. But still think it's a waste of money. Unless it's truly outstanding, can't imagine I would see it more than once or twice.)

2. No dark ride. One of the big dangers of Avatar-land is that it will grow outdated over time. IMO, a dark ride where the only real purpose is to ride/float through film scenes will grow tiresome quickly.

3. No spinners (Dumbo, Astro Orbiter, Triceratop Spin, etc.) 'Nuff said.

4. No stage shows. Skip the singing and dancing, please.

Other than that, here's hoping Disney will dazzle me. Some sort of shooter / hidden image finder (like Monster's Inc in Tokyo) would have a lot of re-ride appeal. Not something like Buzz or TSM where you're just trying to squeeze the trigger as often as possible--more exploration elements. Could even qualify as a "dark ride".

^^

DAK is in desperate need of dark ride.

What DAK needs is GOOD attractions. Imagineers shouldn't feel obligated to build a dark ride just so they can put another checkmark in the Disney theme park paybook.

A vanilla dark ride with movie scenes and characters would quickly grow tiresome and show the property's age.

"Because it doesn't have a _____" is the worst reasoning in the world to pursue any given concept. Imagineering has a completely blank slate and a reported budget around a half billion dollars. We should WANT them pushing the envelope rather than falling back on 50 year old ideas of what "needs" to be in a park.

You and I don't agree often, I've noticed. But yes. This.

As I've posted before, I want to see something I've never seen before -- and not just in the E-ticket attraction, but also in the supporting attractions. It seems to me they have the money and ability to pull it off, unless it gets watered down and suffers budget cuts... but hopefully James Cameron is on board to keep them honest in that regard.

Looks like a lot of us that normally differ in opinion are in agreement. With that amount of funding for a single "land", and the "world" available to them, they should be able to present something amazing.

A big part of what makes me think that'll happen isn't Disney but having Cameron involved. While he has a huge ego - he is also a notorious perfectionist and supports the forefront of technology. The last theme park attraction he was involved with was Terminator 3-D (remember he actually shot the film used for that attraction), which at the time was pretty amazing. (I haven't seen it in 14 years, so not sure how it holds up today.) Maybe its just wishful thinking, but I believe he will push them to do something extra-ordinary.
