What type of attractions do you want for Avatar?

None:

I wish they would reconsider and not put anything related to Avatar in at all. I thought it was a bad choice.. just my opinion though...

sigh, I guess I have to say it again :sad2:

If that's all you were gonna say than you sir (or madam (I guess I should be PC)) are on the wrong thread. This is for the discussion of what Attractions we want. not if we want it or not. I'd love Avatar getting scrapped but its happening despite my opinion because I (and Obviously YOU) have no say in what Disney does.

this is to discuss what we want to go in there. Not if we want it there. This IS happening and we will continue to assume it's on schedule until Disney tells us we're it's cancelled.

Have we even had any confirmed plans where its going??
is this going to be an expansion for Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios? or cud this really be the rumored 5th park we have heard so much about for so long, but then,.... they cant really create a whole themepark based on 1 liscense and yes starwars has its own themed area in hollywood stuidos? starwars is also a major movie lisence to have like Avatar,

without being a killjoy here, i am expecting this to be an expansion on either animal kingdom or hollywood studios with maybe 1 dark ride or motion simulator using 3d technology similar to that of star tours with a minor themed area similar to starwars .... sorry to be a killjoy but i dont think this will be anything spectacular just another way for disney to sell some more merch... i mean they purchased lisencing for marvel and havnt yet done anything iunderstand issues with IOA but i think Avatar may be the same ... sorry

just my opinion.

well, I have to say, if Disney sticks with the finances its claiming $500 million, it'll be a hell of a lot more than one ride and a small themed area. If you are going to doubt anything, I would doubt whether they stick with $500 million budget. But if they do, this will be big. They don't throw around half a billion dollars on a ride. FLEs budget is about half that, and has 3 "new" rides (I'm counting the new Dumbo), two restaurants and more. This is BIG.

As for the Avatar world at Disney, Cameron will be consulting, but not an active participant:

"We’re going to meet and discuss it. They have big plans for it. They want to do a land, a number of different attractions, maybe a flight attraction, and retail outlets, things like that, make a whole environment of it, a themed experience. You would feel like you’re on Pandora. So I think my job and what I look forward to doing is making sure it’s consistent with Na’vi culture, with the themes and values of Avatar, and the next films as well. And they seem very open to that."

Avatar 2 will explore the oceans on Pandora

"Part of my focus in the second film is in creating a different environment – a different setting within Pandora. And I’m going to be focusing on the ocean on Pandora, which will be equally rich and diverse and crazy and imaginative, but it just won’t be a rain forest. I’m not saying we won’t see what we’ve already seen; we’ll see more of that as well."
