Okay, here is the rundown:

Me, DH and DD(6) are heading down for the 8 nights surrounding Memorial Day Weekend. Last visit was Feb 2007. We are big foodies. (Last time, DH and I did the Chef's Table at V&A). This time around we have opted for the Deluxe Dining Plan. We love all kinds of food (although we really have to be in the mood for Chinese), and we have very adventurous palates (as does my daughter), but we can also fully appreciate good home cooked comfort food. For dinners I have booked Jiko for DH and I (bringing DD to Simba's Cubhouse that night), and made reservations for the three of us at Flying Fish Cafe, Cinderella's Royal Table, Hoop-De-Doo Revue, 50's Prime Time Cafe and 1900 Park Fare (I know, another Princess meal, and a buffet, at that. But my DD really wants to meet Prince Charming <3 )

So, that leaves two more dinners, and I would really like to have them over at the World Showcase. Last time we did LeCellier and Rose & Crown. We really liked both, for food and atmosphere. LeCellier is booked solid, not that I had my heart set on going back. I reserved Rose & Crown at prime time for Illuminations viewing, but would consider canceling. So friends, what two reservations would you make and why?

We LOVE Biergarten and I think your daughter would enjoy the entertainment. We also like Rose & Crown if you want to keep that one; I've read really good reviews for Chefs de France at lunch (not dinner).

If you are able to get a water view at San Angel Inn I would dine there. The food is delicious and I like the ambiance of the volcano.

Biergarten is very good. Fun atmosphere and good food. If you are looking for some place to eat in WS, it would be on the top of my list.

Akershus (Norway) gets pretty good reviews as well. I haven't tried it yet but we have our ADR's for early May.

Les Chefs de France, although I haven't had it in a few years, is worth a visit. So is Bistro de Paris if you are looking for a signature restaurant.

Akershus and Tutto. Never eaten at Tutto, but would love to. We love Akershus. Ate lunch there in Sept and it was great. Love the princesses. Teppan Edo was fun as well. We are doing Le Cellier in May, but as you said that is booked.

Based on your post.. absolutely Tutto Italia (we really enjoyed our meal there).
I am stumped on a second. I wasn't a huge fan of Marrakesh. I missed Teppan Edo as I was ill, and we didn't go anywhere else in Epcot.
I think I would like to try Chefs next time though.

I would choose Biergarten and Marrakesh. Both were very good and both have entertainment. We are planning on going to Biergarten here in about a week and a half or so. No plans for Marrakesh this trip as I am pregnant and right now certain smells are not agreeing with my stomach.

I know you're not big on Asian, but Teppen Edo is great. Great food and very entertaining! Your 6 year old will love it! San Angel also has good food with good atmosphere.

You might consider...
Tutto Italia Ristorante
Chefs de France (casual) or Bistro de Paris (upscale)
Biergarten (buffet style)

Teppan Edo and Tutto Italia, myself, DH and DD7 did the Deluxe Dining last year and they were our two favorite out of World Showcase. :thumbsup2

This past September we ate many of table-service meals at Epcot. We really enjoyed our World Showcase "adventures in eating" as we jokingly referred to it.

You mentioned that Le Cellier is booked, so I agree with other posters that Biergarten might be fun for you. My 7 yo DD really liked the band that plays there, and she found plenty to eat. Their potato leek soup is scrumptious!

We also enjoyed Akershus (we went for breakfast last year but had dinner there in 08), but you may not want to have another princess meal since you have Cinderella's Royal Table.

I've heard good things about Tutto Italia and Rose and Crown, but have not yet been there myself. We have booked Rose & Crown this year as well. Good luck with your choices, and hope you enjoy your meals!

Our faves:

-Biergarten (comfort food and fun oompah band entertainment)
-Teppan Edo (fun teppan show and really good Japanese food)
-Marrakesh (not the most authentic, but they will amp up the spices if you ask- also fun bellydancing and Moroccan music)
-Rose & Crown (if you can eat outside- view is lovely)

Places we'd like to try:

-Les Chefs de France
-Tutto Italia

Another vote for Biergarten...and we LOVE Nine Dragons...our tastes and eating styles sound VERY similar to yours. It has gotten mixed reviews meaning both good and bad. We ate there shortly after its reopening and the food and service was FANTASTIC.

Tutto Italia and I'd keep Rose & Crown ... but Biergarten is a very close 3rd! I don't think you can go wrong with any of the 3.

One place we did not like and wouldn't go back to is San Angel but that is just our opinion.

Teppan Edo was one of our favorites
It was very entertaining, and I liked it because you get to see the food before it was cooked. The chicken was perfectly pink and the steak perfectly red. No fat or gristle or skin AT ALL! Delicious!

We also ate at Tutto Italia. The food was really good and the restaurant was beautiful, but we were made to feel like we didn't "fit in." DS(6 at the time) is pretty tall for his age and I look pretty young (I got ID'd to sign up for newspaper subsription.. like I don't look 18!) so maybe they thought DH and I were babysitting or something! I really liked the food, but we probably won't go back because the servers really acted like we didn't belong. If you do decide to dine there, the mozzarella and tomato appetizer is awesome

There seems to be many fans of Teppan Edo here, but having not tried that my vote is Tutto and Chefs de France. My view on Teppan Edo is it's probably like Benihana, which I can get anytime at home. The same argument could probably be made for Italian dishes, but in my opnion, pasta dishes, sauces etc vary widely. Always have good meals at Tutto and Chefs. :thumbsup2
