Hi,

Can anyone advise what maps to download for our Sat Nav? We are staying in Kisseemee and are doing all the usual WDW, Universal etc - not Kennedy tho. I know everywhere is clearly signposted, but its my hubbies first time, and hes abit nervous about getting from A to B. We land at Orlando Sanford airport.

Thanks
Karen

I'm not sure about downloads but you can get an a-z type map quite easily that is really helpful (Rand- McNally is one and someone posted a link to an unofficial map for tourists that some had found helpful).

I understand the nervous part as I have to do all the driving. It is easier to get around over there than here but we have found maps useful. If you have a tomtom that will work over there then that could be great - afraid I don't have one so can't help with the techie answer to your Q but wanted you to know there were alternatives.

Have you checked on the Tom Tom site?

There's probably something on E Bay but we're new to Tom Tom so I'm not very confident yet :sunny:

Pretty sure there are a few Tom Tom users on here so pretty certain you'll get a better reply soon ;)

We used directions from the Rand McNally site before our last trip (pre Tom Tom) and they were really good - you just log on and plan a journey in the same way as you use the AA site in the UK :thumbsup2

please be more specific about what version of tomtom you are using, and what hardware you are running it on. if its tt5 on a pda, you could just borrow my sd card when i get back.

Hi Tron, :confused3

Weve got a Tom Tom Go 700 - sorry i dont know about the other stuff u mentioned, as weve not long had it, and i just presumed it was just a case of going on the Tom Tom site and downloading the relevant maps. Could u explain 4 me?

Thanks Karen

what about the tom tom 510? just bought one and looking to use it in usa in sept, how do i get the us maps for this particular model.?

For the TomTom Go 700 you can download a map from:

The TomTom web site, click on 'PLUS Services' at the top and then 'maps' on the left hand menu. (not allowed to post link)

I would select the South East region of the US for €59.95.

I used this last year and it was invaluable!

:thumbsup2

Can't help woth the Tom Tom but to be honest I don't think you will need it,once out of the Airport the drive is fairly staight forward & getting between the parks is practically a straight road between Uni Blvd & World Dr
SD :firefight

karen, youve got a dedicated unit, i have it on my phone/pocketpc, sorry i cant be of assistance, but it looks like others have been helpful enough to get you going.

Thanks Zovo and Kylie, have just had a quick look and found everything u mentioned. Think i will go for the South East version then. Have checked the individual maps to at $4.95, but not sure which ones we'd need if we went for these.

Thanks Karen :sunny:
