ok, planning on 1st week in december...can we were shorts? what is the weather like and can we swim, too? i assumed that shorts would be fine, but i am unsure what the temps/weather conditions are like.

It's too early to pack yet ;) !!!! Honestly - We've been going the first week of December for about 6 years now - and you NEVER know what the weather may be like.....Most years, it has been great - shorts with a light jacket during the evening & morning.....And you can definitely swim - but it might be chilly when you get out of the pool - so remember a cover-up! I remember one year, however, when there was an early freeze - it was in the 20's at night - only 50 during the day - the poor pointsettias around the parks were dead (Disney put these cute signs out that said " Jack Frost paid us an unexpected visit" - or something like that) --- and there was the one year where we had torrential downpours the entire week (That was my LEAST favorite )......

So, to make a long story short - check the weather shortly before you go ----Jill

You never know. You could have warm weather or you could have cold weather. Last January for the Marathon it was 84 degrees on the day of the marathon. It was way to hot. We went to BB two or three days during the first week of January and even got a bit of a sunburn.

We were there in December a few years ago, and we needed gloves and sweatshirts (plus stocking hats) because we were so cold.

Plan on layering your clothes so you can remove some as you get warmer during the day. The pools are heated so you can swim.

We used to go to WDW in early December and there are photos of us in shorts some years and long pants and coats other times. One year it was so cold that we had to buy hats & mittens. No swimming that year! Bring a variety of clothes and keep you eye on the weather channel before you leave.

Just check with weather.com the day you pack, it will give you a fairly accurate 10 day forecast which will help with what to take with you. :earsboy:

Plan on layers. But pay attention to the weather forcast before you leave. There are some days in Dec where you need your wintercoat at night and other nights where you just need long sleeves and still others where short sleeves are fine. December is tricky weather.
