What to wear

We are leaving for Disneyland on Thurs. I have packed T-shirts and capris for my girls and I with sweatshirt type jackets. Like the disney princess type jackets. I have been checking the 10 day forecasts everyday and it says the highs for the days we will be there (thurs through Mond) will be in the low 70's. Do you think that we will be warm enough? Esp at night? I am wondering if we should pack long sleeve t-shirts instead. I just don't want to get too hot during the day. When I packed my bag a week ago the long term forecast was in the 80's but it has since gone down.

Also we are going to the halloween party on Friday night and both girls costumes have long sleeves but are a little sheer. I would hate to have them have to wear their coats over them so I am wondering about putting turtle necks underneath but then I don't want them to get too hot either.

What to do????

I am packing today so I am not much help. I am thinking about packing long sleeve shirts for the day time. That way I don't have to worry about it when it cools down and Since it's in the 70's it will be tolerable and the kids won't get to hot.

Last year we rented a locker to hold our jackets at DL. I don't recommend it. We jammed that locker and had to have someone come and fix it which took an hour to do.

Yeah I am thinking about switching to pants. And probably long sleeve t-shirts. Low 70's can be pretty cool and we take lightweight jackets and just tie them around our waists. We have rented the lockers in the past but we usually just go back to the room to dump stuff off. We are staying right across the street. I think I may just throw in some turtle necks for the girls just in case.

I'd pack jeans for the night. We go back to rest after lunch anyway so we shower & re-dress then for the night. I hope it's jeans weather when we go....

When my DD's costumes have been too thin I pair a unitard/tights beneath it.

Think "layers." Unless the weather changes dramatically from what is forecasted, capri's and t-shirts should be fine during the day. My son wears shorts almost all year to school - unless it rains. Wear/bring sweatshirts like you had planned. The extra layer will feel good in the a.m. or in the late afternoon as it cools off. Sweatshirts are also thin enough to tie around your waist - we do that all the time to avoid the locker issue. For evening, I suggest jeans and long sleeved t-shirt with your sweatshirt. Often it is warmer in the park because it's sheltered and the crowd keeps things warm. Having long sleeves/tights is a great idea for costumes. My kids refuse to wear jackets over their costumes and they almost always need long sleeves on Halloween night.

We like to wear long sleeve shirts over our t-shirts to start out the day (mornings can be cool, especially if you're doing EE), then strip down to the t-shirts when it gets too warm. Long sleeve shirts are a lot less bulky to carry around your waist or in your backpack than sweatshirts or jackets are.

Thanks! The weather keeps changing and it is saying low 70's with one day the high is only 68 so I re-packed with jeans and long sleeve t-s. The T-s aren't heavy but I figured short sleeves even with jackets sometimes isn't warm enough in the evenings. This is that hard time of year. Plus I am going to bring turtle necks for underneath the girls costumes because they are VERY shear and I KNOW they are not going to want to wear their jackets over them LOL.

Thanks!

I am still confused about what to wear. The weather will be between 68F-78F during the time we are there. I will probably bring long pants for the majority of the trip and some deck pants for the hot days.

Does anyone know if I can do laundry at the Disneyland Hotel if I'm staying at Paradise Pier?

Absolutely!!! In fact when you look at the info book they have in your room at PP, it will tell you to use the coin op at DLH. Just call the front desk to get detailed directions.

The one suggestion I have is one given to my hubby while he was washing our clothes (yay for him!)...go easy on the dryers or you'll have to spend more time and quarters on them. Split up your wash...one wash load into two dryers, that sort of thing.
