just wanted to know what you all wear and put on your kids on the plane, do you put heavy layers over lighter ones or do you just change when you get there?
bit slow me, sorry

I always wear linen trousers, a vest top and have a fleece as the aircraft can be glacial.

Edited to add - sorry just realised you were asking about children - cotton trousers, a T shirt and a fleece.

I normally wear jeans or trousers, with a tee-shirt and a fleece or cardigan, which I can remove if I get too hot. DH wears jeans and tee-shirt.

We don;t usually bother getting changed until we get to the hotel and then it's straight into shorts :sunny:

This is always a hard one, in previous years i have worn thin jogging bottoms (you no the cotton ones not the shiny ones), a t-shirt, a thin cardigan and trainers (which i take off as soon as i get seated on the plane). This year I'm going to wear shiny jogging bottoms, a t-shirt, a cardigan and trainers. On the way back i plan to wear the same but wear a thick jumper instead of a cardigan because i get really cold on the plane at night.

Hi, we always go mid summer, so weather is usually fairly warm here. I often wear crops, with a light fleece/cardigan. DH always goes in zip off trousers - as soon as we get there, he just zips the bottoms off!
It does often get chilly on the plane (more so, on the return journey) - but seems daft taking too many fleeces/cardigans etc when you're going to 90 degree heat! I find jeans too thick for mid summer, so tend to go for linen or light cotton.
The kids have always gone in shorts/crops, again with a couple of layers, just for the plane.
Have a great time!

It can depend on when you are going, if summer like us then we tend to dress fairly light.
Usually 3/4 length shorts/trousers, comfortable trainers and possibly a light jacket or hooded sweater - tend to dress Josh very similar but always take a spare pair of shorts and a couple of t-shirts in the hand luggage for him also.

As little as possible with some spares in the hand luggage. We've always found planes (especially long haul), to be hot affairs.

we are going 1st aug, but travelling to manchester from w mids at 5am, so its going to be very cold at that time, can t remember what they wore last time, only they complained they were cold, and as i am trying to use my week off to sort out as much as poss just thought id get some feedback. Out of interest, some one some where suggested using ziplock bags to sort out a days clothes for when you are there, seems like a really good idea, has anyone tried it and what are the downs, ups obviously are speed and organisation :thumbsup2
thanks

Hi

I tend to either wear mid length skirt or 3/4 length trousers or shorts with a light top. I always dress for the weather for the destination arrival. I hate waiting in lines feeling hot and changing always seems an effort when you have to organise 3 children. Maybe I am lazy :lmao:

The kids tend to wear light trousers and a shirt and my daugter a dress with tights. When we arrive we can take her tights off. We use a light fleece or hooded top, so we can easily pack this into hand luggage.

Dh and myself always tend to wear shorts, t shirts and sweatshirt jacket.

Four years ago we were the only ones dressed like this when we landed at Sanford and the immigration folks shouted " Those are the ones we invited" and the officer who was showing people to the lines, lead us to the front of the queue :thumbsup2

We tend to wear something comfortable. So maybe jeans that are a little big and a comfy shirt. We will also pack some sort of jumper/cardigan or light jacket. As for footwear, something you can take off 2 mins after sitting down on the plane.

When we take the neices and nephew, we dress them simlear to us. I know last time the 7 year old wore pj bottoms (that looked like propper trousers otherwise we would not have let him). One of the girls (11) likes to wear really short, tight skirts and simlear shirts {not my kids, I can not tell them what to wear unless I am in charge or the parents are not around}... but 4 hours after take off she will complain.

If you can wear it long distance in a car, you can wear it on a plane. But try to layer where possible.

I'm planning on 3/4 trousers with t shirt and hoodie as i always get chilly on planes. This year i have bought flight socks as my ankles swell up.......cropped trousers and flight socks maybe not such a good look!!!!
