Check the weather forecast for that day and decide then. Last year the week before Christmas, jean, a short sleeved polo shirt, and a light fleece jacket worked out perfectly. I wore the jacket around my waist tied from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and then put in on for the rest of the evening. We were there till 1:30 p.m. and I was quite comfortable. We had warmer weather than averages with highs around 73 and lows only going down to 57 or so. It was heavenly, but believe me you can't depend on weather like that. I didn't even pack my parka on this trip, but did bring a heavy sweater and a fleece jacket. I usually look at the extended forecast the day before we fly too and that helps me decide if I want to throw in more than one pair of shorts and/or a winter parka and gloves too. I've had it up to 85 at Christmas as a high (so glad to have the shorts and swim suit), and on a different trip I've had it down to 33 for a low BURRRR -- was so glad to have the parka, ski gloves then, and fleece lined boots) -- yes I looked at the extended forecast the day before I flew down and that meant I was prepared compared to others. Many others were miserable in the park, but not me dressed like Nanook of the North.

Must dos for your suit case. At least one pair of shorts, at least one pair of jeans, a fleece or similar type jacket, a swimsuit (as pools are always heated).

Trying to figure out what to do for our matching family shirts for MVMCP on 12/1 - I know no one can predict the weather, but we've never been in late November/December and was wondering what the majority of folks would do for the Christmas party...

Thank you!

I disagree. The weather is generally extremely predictable the closer you get to the date. I'd hold off trying to plan what to pack/wear until a few days before you leave. The 7 day is even fairly reliable as far as general temperature ranges go. For instance, if you are leaving on a Saturday and are going to MVMCP on a Tuesday and the 7 day on Thursday says it will be a high of 77 and a low of 58, you can be very sure that the high won't be much above 83 and the low won't go much below 53. So my advice, wait before you plan your wardrobe.

Last year I was hot in early December at MVMCP. I wore a 3/4 sleeve length T-shirt with a Christmas design and capri's.

In 2010, it was freezing my whole trip so I was layered up. I had a tank top, short sleeve t-shirt, long sleeve t-shirt, cardigan sweater, long sleeve denim shirt and a fleece jacket and that all kept me warm plus gloves and my Mickey Ear Santa hat for MVMCP. I started with less stuff on and put the rest in my backpack. By the end of the evening my backpack was empty. LOL

I would wait until it's closer to decide what to pack but for sure bring things you can layer with you.

We are preparing for cool (going nov 13). It will feel cooler when the sun goes down and with daylight savings this weekend, that means even cooler! Our plan is cheap long sleeve Christmas tops bought at children's place and festive leggings (just cotton) for our kids. DH and I have cotton long sleeves and probably jeans. We will stash sweaters in a locker just in case. We are there daytime as well before the party. We are from Canada, so we are used to real cold lol. We are packing thin mitts and earmuffs along just in case for the entire trip, but so far the weather looks warm. We leave in 9 days.

Florida weather is never predictable, except maybe in the summer when you can predict you will melt. I check the weather a few times a day, and it changes constantly. Now, it's probably not going to leap from 40 degrees to 80 degrees, but it may very well change from 70 down to 60, and that will make a difference in clothing, especially at night and when sitting around waiting for a parade and fireworks. OP, I would wait until the last minute to pack, but I do agree that a short sleeved t-shirt may be the best; you can layer underneath and over the top of it, and people will still see your festive attire!

I made our t-shirts last night. We are doing short sleeves and bringing layers for under and over if necessary! But, even if we have to freeze a bit, we will get a photo in our shirts in front of the castle that night! (we are Dec 1 party, too!)

Last December we were more than comfortable with short sleeves and a light jacket. In past years we were very cold in just a hooded sweatshirt and could have used something warmer. Then there were the years where it was shorts and no jackets. So unpredictable! Usually we drive so we just bring a few different jacket weights and leave them in the car incase we need them. This year we will be traveling by plane so we'll most likely wear our fleece jackets on the flight down and pack a lighter weight jacket.
