What to wear in the evening.....

Following on from another thread about clothing....

We haven't been in August before and can't picture how hot it will be of an evening?!? If we have been at the villa all day and are just going out for a meal around 7pm ish what will we wear? Shorts and t-shirts? 3/4's? not jeans surely?? linen trousers?

Any advice what to pack please?

We went last August and it was still really hot in the evenings so definately not jeans ! horts, vest tops,summer dresses etc instead. Some restaurants did feel a bit chilly with the aircon but I never felt the need to wear a cardi or anything.

This year we are travelling light and taking a lot less now we've seen how hot it is !

The evenings in August will typically be humid and sticky, so definitely summer garb. Other than that, it'll depend on where you're going and what you feel comfortable in. I like to head back to the villa (or hotel) to shower and change before dinner and then dress up a bit. If that's not your thing, you won't feel out of place with whatever you choose, except in the most upscale places.

I'm a linen trousers wearer either full length or 3/4 with a cotton top.

Just take a cardy or hooded top in case of freezing air con.

I always have a fleece with me for the restaurants, the air con is ridiculously high.

I always wear jeans in Florida - yes, even during the day in the summer months! Occasionally board shorts or 3/4's but usually jeans. I never wear vest tops either - always t-shirts.

I just hate exposing my skin to the sun.

Not skinny jeans though. That would be a bit torturous.

Thanks for the replies.....

Was unsure as to whether to take fleeces but given that both DD2 and I feel the cold it sounds as though we will definately need them in some restaurants.
