I can see from the weather report that it could be Mid 70's during the day and mid 50's at night next week at wdw. I realize this could very well change But-----should we plan on shorts during the day with sweatshirts and jackets ? I havn't been to wdw in Jan and need to know what to plan on. I will also bring coats and jeans but was hoping I could get by with shorts and layers--- what do you think? 7 days to go-------

thanks Jill-

anytime we have gone in Dec or Jan we have taken both jeans/ sweatshirts and shorts/tees and usually wear the shorts/tees more, usually needing the sweat or jacket at night and occasionally for one or two days BUT you really need to be prepared for anything..I'm taking the easy way out this time and bringing *mostly* capris ( figure they are in between enough I shouldn't freeze or roast) with tees and a couple fleeces & zip up the front sweaters to go over if needed. I'll have my winter jacket in the car anyway due to leaving here in the cold

Here is what I packed for upcoming Trip:

10 Tee Shirts
3 Long Sleeved Tees
Sweatshirt, Jacket, Gloves, Hat
6 pairs shorts
3 pairs jeans

I figured if it is cold, I can layer! It was tough trying to decide what to pack...don't do it the night before you leave, it's just n o good! :sunny:

We are going to WDW at the end of January. Not only am I having the anxiety "what do I pack" dreams--that cause me to be on these boards at 3:00 a.m. :hyper: , but I'm not sure of what is "proper" attire for sit down dinners (& I don't have any places in mind at the moment). I don't think jeans, t-shirts, & sneakers are going to "cut it."

We are only at WDW for 3 nights/2 days--as my husband is attending a conference in Orlando. Any thoughts?

When going in January, you'll need to be prepared for temps that run from the 30's to 80's. Typically, you'll start the day in long pants, a t-shirt, and a sweat shirt or light jacket. It'll probably be in the high 40's or low 50's when you depart the hotel. By late morning the temp will approach 70 and you'll want to shead the top layer. However, some days it might not get out of the high 50's, or it might get up into the 80's. We usually pack one pair of shorts for that time of year and that is usually all we need.

As far as proper attire for dinners, except for V&A's at the GF, as long as it's not a swimsuit or halter top and cut offs, you'll be fine... Even then, they won't boot you.

last january..we arrived on the 3 and it was freezing!!! It was around 2pm and we had jeans and t-shirts on..the next few days we had to buy scarfs and mittens....usually in the morning it's pretty chilly then in the afternoon it's kinda warm...and at night is when u should really carry a jacket....when we were there i actually used my ski jackets because it was soo cold...it was like 50ºF. It all depends on the day. I suggest packing a bit of eveything...sweatpants, jeans, t-shirts, sandals, sneakers, and a jacket. Florida wheather is unpredictable. ::yes::

that probably depends on where you are going..anyplace in the parks will be park clothes ( what you mentioned) and most places except the expensive ones that is ok( I think Victoria and Albert's has a dress code) but i will probably at least brush my hair :) ! really i plan on changing if possible for resort rest...we are going to Boma and Ohana but that is about it for resorts..so just *clean* kakhi capris and a little nicer tees with out the mustard from lunch i seem to always manage to acquire!
