This will be our first visit to DLR and I wanted to make sure what kind of clothes to bring. We are starting the trip off in San Fran and I've been told it can get very cool at night on the wharf but by the time we get to DLR will I long jeans and a light jacket still at night?

We didn't, but maybe it depends what you're used to. We're from the UK so pretty much anything seems warm to us! Though we did find it very cold and windy on Pier 39 in San Francisco in the morning.

On our last five summer trips in June-August, we left each morning at 6:30-7:30AM in shorts and tee-shirts, and came back usually after midnight in...shorts and tee-shirts. We never even thought about putting on a sweater or long pants.

OK, thanks! So it seems during my stay in San Fran I should bring at least one pair of jeans and maybe a light jacket:confused:

DH and I are from AZ so in July when we go for our birthdays we usually pack light jackets for the morning and the late evening. But when it hits 70 here I want a sweatshirt. Haha. It just depends on your tolerance to weather.

That's a good idea - SanFran can get chilly in the am and night because of the fog and wind off the water. Plus, I think it's always good to have at least 1 pair of jeans with you in case of weird weather (not common in Anaheim, but can happen anywhere).

I live a couple of hours from SF and here where I live the heat can be unbearable at times so every july or august we go up to SF for the day and get away from it...as I can remember last summer when we went, I remember wearing a sleeveless shirt with straps on it and capris and when I was down by the wharf I put on a lightweight jacket at night but once I moved away from the wharf I took it off again...so hope that helps

Yes, that helps alot, thanks! I was told the wharf is very cool in the morning and at night because of the water and since we are staying right on it maybe I should bring a couple of pairs of jeans.

At least going out for dinner or walking the pier at night it sounds like I'll definitely need them. Is the Pier open at night?

oh yeah its definitely open:goodvibes...there are a couple of really great restaurants in SF that you should really consider...if you are interested...pm me and I will give you their links....

DB and I went to a Giants game this summer in SF - it was freezing!

In fact, I don't think it's ever been bearable when I've been there. And I only lived 30 mins away! The temp difference is crazy.

As for Anahem... hot. Or at least, mostly hot. But I'm not a shorts-wearin' kinda gal, so I always wear jeans. And I haven't passed out yet! :thumbsup2 A light sweater is a good thing to have, and if you don't want to carry it or get a locker - park in the Timon lot! DB and I leave things in the truck, cuz we know it'll only take 10 mins to get there and back on the tram :)

We always have worn shorts and T-shirts at DLR. The girls would usually put a heavier shirt in the evning. I perfer tank tops usually more comfortable for me with what ever breeze blowing thru. SF can a bit coolish at night down by the water.
