Hi guys! I've been to WDW plenty of times but I've always been heavier than now (I've lost almost 50 lbs this year...) and have always dressed in shorts/tees or pants/tops, etc. However, this year I am much more comfortable wearing sundresses than ever before and to be honest, I think I would be wayyyyyy more comfy in these than shorts/tops. I've found quite a few cute sundresses or tankdresses at Old Navy on clearance and know they would be lightweight and cool for the September heat...not to mention easy to wear when I am filling my face on FREE dining!! :) What do you tihnk?? How many of you wear simple little sundresses (not terribly short...right at knee or even slightly below the knee...I am married to a preacher...lol) instead of other things?? Just curious...

As long as you can gracefully get out of the rides without flashing everybody, they should be fine. I've read where alot of people here on the DIS do, but have also seen alot of ladies underwear while we were down there. Chub rub might also be a problem, so be sure to carry a tube of bodyglide or else you could solve both potential problems by wearing a pair of thin biking shorts beneath your dresses. I'm carrying a couple of thin dresses, but am only wearing them for dinner and the Cirque de Soleil show. I know me well enough to know that no way could I get out of Splash Mountain or Space Mountain without giving everyone behind me a view of my backside.

I actually prefer wearing dresses. I think they are so comfortable and you end up looking cute in the pics! If you're worried about a free show while exiting the rides, wear shorts underneath.
Hope that helps!

Love dresses! If they are about knee length - sometimes (esp if they are the loose A-line type) I will wear some simple cotton bike shorts underneath. It makes it more comfortable getting into some rides, like space mountain. I think it looks a bit more classy sometimes than shorts (although I'll wear them too, but not too tight like they can be!).

Ann Taylor Loft also I think sometimes has some cute ones, and good sales. Problem with them is sometimes they have little straps and I like to wear a regular bra - not good with little spaghetti straps.

You will look very nice, and good job on the weight loss. That is a huge accomplishment! Remember to stick to healthy food on the free dining (sorry I used to work for Jenny Craig and I'd hate to see you undo all that work!)

I will be wearing some maternity sundresses, wish I had more! They are so much more comfortable in the heat! I won't have to worry about shorts underneath, because I probably couldn't climb down into rides!;)

Hmmmm....the bike shorts is a great idea...do you think I could get these at walmart or target?? Are they pretty cheap?? Thanks for the tips! :goodvibes

They have them in the active-wear dept of Target. They even have ones that wick moisture away from your body. They are usually pretty inexpensive, less then $15.
Good Luck!

I'm a sundress girl at home.... but I think at Disney I'd be too worried about getting on & off rides. I've worn cute little skirts with shorts built in. Actually for Disney I love the tennis skirts, b/c they are so light weight!

Yesterday, me & DS3 were coming out of a store, I was wearing a little sundress, and as he's walking behind me, he starts playing w/ my dress & lifts it up a bit. I'm not sure how much was shown, but way more than I would have liked. :scared1: I don't know how to get him to stop doing that.

No comment on the clothes but I would like to congratulate you on the weight loss! Keep it up!

I would never do it to do a lot of walking because of the chub rub issue. But maybe since you've lost so much wieght you won't have that issue. Congrats on the weight loss!
