We are travelling next week to Disney and wonder what you would suggest to bring for 8 month olds.

I am packing as best I can for layers and we plan on spending most of time in the parks during the day. My main concern is that they are going to be comfortable. I don't want to dress them to warm or too cold.

Any one who has been this time of year and can help, it would be appreciated.

Thanks

The best advice I can give is to take advantage of the fact that their little clothes don't take much space and just pack tons ;) The weather is pretty variable this time of year. Bring layers, like you said, since it's cooler in the mornings and evenings. Definitely pack a hat/mittens in case it's cold. You can bring a blanket for the stroller that you put over them when it's cold and under them when it isn't. You shouldn't have trouble keeping them comfortable if you pack a variety. Have fun!

We just took DD 11months earlier this month. Layering worked great. I would wear pants with a onesie and then either a short sleeved or long sleeved shirt with a sweatshirt or jacket overtop. Once it warmed up in the morning we would just take off the layers and it worked great. In the evening we would add the layers back on and had no probs.

Stroller blanket is great for early mornings and when the sun starts to go down. We did alot of layers so you can adjust them during the day. Bring a hat and some mittens....This time of year the temperatures vary so much.

I've been with babies twice. Both times, we went with one piece romper-style outfits. Easy to change, easy to pack. You can put a sweater on if necessary.

If they get a one-piece dirty, put on a new outfit. It's easy to keep 2 or 3 extra one-piece rompers in a diaper bag.

Don't bring anything with complicated zippers or snaps. Don't bring anything uncomfortable b/c the baby is going to be in the stroller or in a sling/carrier almost all of the time, so the fabric rubs the skin a lot.

Bring outfits that look cute in pictures!!!

When we took babes at that age the clothing that I wish I had brought more off was one piece footed sleeper type outfits (but cute.) The reason was at night it was cold (also March) and it was easy to just put them in bed then. Also you didn't have to worry about little shoes and socks slipping off, or that gap where there leg shows between socks and pants (when you pick them up it pulls up.)

If it was too hot we just took it off and slipped a little skirt or short over her onies. Both morning and night it can be cool this time of year. They kick of blankets and you can't wrap them up well in a baby Bjorn (but can in a sling.)

I only had 2 of such outfits or was it 3 with us. We ended up wearing it a number of times. (did laundry.) Take a number of outfits with you through the day. You can blow through a few with diaper or food issues.

We will be there next week too. Just DH and I for the 1st parents only trip. It hardly seems real since we are not talking about it too much with the kids (they went in Jan and get to go on DCL wonder in May so I don't feel too bad for them.) After a week of sick kids and sick everyone else too I sooooo need a nice break. WDW will work perfectly.
