for dinner??

It's a little tricky to plan for. I understand it's sort of a themed restaurant, that can be very loud and casual. But it's at dinner, at the Wilderness Lodge (nice hotel I think!!), and we're going celebrating a birthday with a large party.

I just don't want to make DH wear khakis and be to be in a dress, and the rest of the place be in shorts or jeans.

thanks!

Most people will be dressed very casual in shorts and jeans. Frankly, even at the dress code restaurants (Yachtsmen and California Grill) I saw mostly casual people and can't remember any ladies in dresses. That said, for a special occasioni you should wear want you want to go along with that! I don't think you'll feel out of place at all as long as the dress is casual.

WCC is not a khakis-and-dress type of place. "Dressing up" there would be jeans for your husband and capris for you. I would feel out-of-place in a dress pretty much anywhere on Disney property, except V&A's (where I've never been and don't expect to; I'd rather spend $300 on many things instead of one dinner).

It's *very* casual. While WL is certainly a nicer hotel on WDW property, it has a very rustic and homey atmosphere.

As the PP said, a casual dress (i.e., sundress) would be fine, and so would khakis, but it's certainly not a place for ties or cocktail dresses. Shorts, t-shirts, and flip-flops are the rule there, it's extremely casual. Honestly, Applebees has a much more formal atmosphere than WCC. :lmao: With the waitstaff banging trays and hootin and hollerin, and kids doing stick pony races around the restaurant, and your fellow patrons wearing napkin hats, I think you'd feel quite of place in anything too dressy.

And while the Wilderness Lodge is a deluxe, and is certainly a nice hotel, the atmosphere is very relaxed and casual there.

Thanks so much for the replies!

I'll have to tell my 83 y/o grandmother to tone it down a bit then. :goodvibes She's been out looking for a new dress to wear. :rolleyes1

Where whatever you want. It is a nice hotel and a nice resturant but people come dressed right from the park. So I say just be comfortable and have a great time it's fun here :thumbsup2

Super casual atmosphere. Like PP's have stated, you would be fine in a sundress. It was super chilly when we went, so we all had on sweatshirts and jeans. I saw all states of dress there, from khakis and casual dresses, to shorts and tees. I think one lady even had on pajama bottoms, but I'm still not certain about that.

OK, as a PP said, that really is so cute! I think your 83 y/o grandmother should wear anything that makes her happy! :flower3:

Wear a shirt from Universal or Sea World.
Fun Times! :rotfl:
