What to wear at DLR next week

Normally for a July/Aug trip it would be a no brainer to pack only shorts. However, this seems to be a cold summer- up here and down there. Checking the weather it looks like they expect it to be in the high 70's at most. Just wondering from people who were just there, how does that feel in the parks?
Are jeans too hot? Are shorts too cold? Is it chilly at night? I don't know what to pack and I hate to bring a lot of extra things. I'm leaving tomorrow and I think I'll probably wear jeans on the drive down. Normally, that's a hot drive.

We're going next week, and my plan is to wear shorts during the day and change into jeans in the evening. It'll probably be cool in the early morning, and I hate lugging a sweater around, so I'll probably wear a long sleeve shirt over my t-shirt or tank top that I can stuff in my purse later in the day.

Yeah, I'm disappointed. I was looking forward to at least high 80's. Oh well, if I have to have a cold summer, at least I'll be at DLR.

I wore knee-length denim shorts and a t-shirt and was just about the perfect temperature. However, it's been in the 90s-100s all July in Utah, so it was like heaven getting out of what I consider too much heat. I definitely needed a sweater after the sun went down, but I thought temperatures were just perfect. Hot enough for a midday trip down Splash Mountain, cool enough to not be sweating buckets.

I'm planning on capris and a t-shirt and i'm bringing a long sleeved shirt for morning. Haven't been in OC since last tuesday but it seems to be warming up over here so i'm assuming it must be getting a little warmer over there too. I'm actually hoping for cool temps. It's too hot out here (east of DLR), i want some nice cool ocean breezes!

Ok, guess I'll bring my long shorts, a pair of jeans, a pair of capris, and a sweater. I don't want to complain too much because I'm sure the middle of the day will be nice and it will probably be better than 100 degrees.

Also, when we were there a few weeks ago for our anniversary, it was when they were having pretty cool weather for summer (60s i think?). I wore capris both days and I was fine. I wore my long sleeved shirt over my t-shirt all day one day and part of the day the next. I did put my sweatshirt on while waiting for WOC because it was a getting chilly but i never felt like i was freezing and it was much colder the days we went than it will be for your trip. Hope that helps.

FWIW, here was what happened to us this week:

Monday we arrived in the afternoon and the sun was just coming at about mid-day.

Tuesday was overcast until 1Pm and cool. DW is cold sensitive and was cold all morning and needed to get a hoodie.

Wednesday dawned with sunshine! As did Thursday and Friday. Our three main park days had all sunshine! This morning (Saturday) was overcast but burned off quickly by 10AM.

The days warmed up nicely but never felt hot. The nice part is we did not feel drained by heat and shortened our afternoon breaks considerably. The not so nice part was some in our group needed hoodies in the morning and evening. That is a first for us. We never have worn hoodies on summer trips - tee-shirts always worked fine. The long range forecast says things are not changing much over the next 10 days.

we leave in 2 weeks and I am excited about the cooler tepms. I do hope we can swim in the afternoon though. It has been a HOT (100 degrees and humid) summer out here and we decided on DLR over WDw because we were tired of being so hot!

I for one did not wear a hoodie and did not need one. We were out by 7AM for MM a couple times and then out to midnight a couple times.

The only exception for me was Friday night when we did GRR twice at about 9:30PM when there was zero line - and got wet. I went back to the room, changed clothes, and headed out to see the 11:15 WOC. Not sure if I truly needed a hoodie but I wore one anyways.

We were there 1.5 weeks ago. I wore a sundress and carried a hoodie for the morning and evening. It was pretty darn hot in the afternoon.

I too am looking forward to days in the 60's and 70's after the heat wave the East Coast had. I'll be in my shorts, loving not sweating to death or burning!!!

Nights were usually cool though and I brought a thin sweater that was easy to stuff in the backpack and not be too big. Even my DH was cold one evening and he is NEVER cold! (He didn't bring anything long sleeved to wear).

Oh yeah, I aslo saw mosquitos there for the first time! Twice we were in DCA when I noticed them. Once while waiting by the Palace of Fine Arts to go in to WOC, and the other time we were eating outside at the bakery in the Bay Area. They didn't bother me though, I guess they don't like me.

Thanks for the weather update! We are leaving tomorrow morning, and are expecting highs in the 70's. I packed a long sleeve shirt just in case, but since its been a hundred freaking degrees here, it will be a welcome break.

We leave next Sunday and I'm betting that Disneyland weather has been like ours in the inland Bay Area. I have no problem packing long pants, sweatshirts, capris, shorts, T-shirts, long-sleeved shirts....yeah! Some of our best Disneyland visits were in January & February, so an unusually cool August doesn't faze us at all.

(PinkBudgie - thanks for the tip regarding mosquitos. Don't usually have a problem with them, but I'd rather be armed with repellant.)

We've been having a cool summer in the North Bay too but it was warmer down there even though the weather reports were the same. During the day, DLR just gets hotter than other places around it. Probably because of all the pavement I guess. Plus, if you have to stand in line in the sun it gets hot because the sun is more intense down there. So make sure to have shorts for during the day and something to put on at night.
