What to use to carry phone (Iphone) at parks?

I got a new Iphone this year and will be taking it to the parks to use the apps and just for a phone to stay in contact with the rest of our party. At home I use my purse. But at the parks I won't take my purse and may or may not use a back pack. What do you use for a bag especially with your phone. I want to make sure it is safe and doesn't get broken.

I have my phone in an otterbox defender case and have dropped it enough to trust the case. I carry a ziplock bag to put it in if it rains hard or I'm on a wet ride.

I have phone pockets in about 1/2 a dozen pairs of shorts and use the side pocket on carpenter pants or cargo pants t ocarry it as I don't trust and hip or belt case.

My phone in that bulky case is about the same size as the leather sleeve I carried my blackberry in so choosing the otterbox was hinged on if the case fit in my current shorts pockets.

I can't stand carrying a bag, the only thing I need to solve is how to carry glasses in a case with out a bag. I've been trying to bribe the kid to carry one so she can carry my glasses, but I've had no luck so far.

I put my droid, about the same size, in a pouch clipped to my belt. I'm not sure many women carry a phone that way.

We do have someone in the company with an iPhone in one of those otter boxes and it looks like it could stop a bullet but again it clips to a belt.

I have a small kate spade cross body bag that I bought specifically to carry in the parks. It's waterproof nylon and has a separate zipper on the front that is exactly the right size for the iPhone. The main compartment is quite small - just enough for a small pack of wipes, my id, some stain remover (either shout wipes or a tide stick), extra sunscreen, hand sanitizer and lip balm.

Very small, but very wisely packed and all things are close, easily accessible and no chance of getting lost :)

Here's a link to the bag I carry (I don't think the exact bag is available any longer, but they have a lot of similar bags still)

This eBags mini-bag is what I've used for the past 3 trips. Just big enough for my iPhone, park map, KTTW card, fastpasses and a little cash. Plus whatever small things I need: hand sanitizer, lip balm, etc. It's really small. I love it.

Next trip, I'm trying this Vera Bradley travel belt that I picked up on sale.

I just got a smartphone and have a case for it. I plan to dump that into my backpack and forget about it. Only reason I'll be taking the phone is for the clock feature. I have no plans to be on the thing while at Disney World. I'll be on vacation. I think my husband will probably leave his back in the room in the safe.

I guess I'm old school because I love my fanny pack. I've only used them at Disney:) it holds phone, camera, keys, money, glasses and hand sanitized. That's all I need! Leaving in 2 days!!!

I saw something really cool at REI (sporitng goods store). It was ....how do I describe it....like one of those waterproof canisters for keys and credit cards that you can use a the beach, but this was larger and clear made to hold your phone. Something like this

Not sure it would work for you but it looks cool and it would keep your phone dry in a rainstorm or water ride. I used my pockets or my sling bag and carried zip locks just in case.

I have used a fanny pack in the past, but I found a great pair of cargo pants last year and those are awesome!

I am a woman and I just carry it on my belt. I gave up bags in 2010 and I will NEVER carry one again. (When we have small children in the parks I will have to devise some way to tie the diapers, wipes and spare clothes to the kid. Its their stuff. They should carry it! :lmao:)

Anyway, my husband and I both just use holsters and have never had an issue.

This is the set I bought when I got my phone. It is not attractive by any means but it does the job well. Iphone kit

I have a similar bag but it's actually a Dooney & Bourke Disney collection bag. The outside pocket, which snaps closed, is the perfect size for my iPhone. Inside I keep the same essentials mentioned and it zips closed. I wasn't sure I'd like it as I'd always used a fanny pack and didn't want to "carry" anything. But this bag is perfect. Plus, the Disney design just adds to my magical experience. :cool1:

I purchased a $5 holster for it last year. It makes it handy because I don't have to take it out of the pouch to check the time, I can hear it when it rings, check the Lines app quickly, etc. However if we go on a water ride that baby gets put in a plastic bag.

i used the vera bradley all in one wristlet. it holds the iphone perfectly and i have room for my tickets, cards, etc without the bulk. when i get tired of carrying it--it goes in his cargo shorts perfectly!

Not technically something to carry it in, but another good idea is to go on Ebay and get one of those waterproof covers for it. I think they might be about $5, and you can still use the iphone through the clear waterproof cover, but this way you don't need to worry about taking it on water rides or carrying it while it rains.

I have a bag similiar to what the 3rd or so poster showed. I always keep my phone in there. Make sure you have a cover for your phone (just the back), I've had an iphone for a few years now (older version an the one just before the one that just came out) and knock on wood I never broke it & i've dropped it a lot and just throw it in my purse. I also have a clear see-thru protective cover for the front to keep the glass from scratching. My DH keeps his in his pocket.
