What to tip the bellman?

What does everyone tip the bellman? We will be getting dropped off by a towncar so I assume someone will help us with our luggage from the towncar to the entrance. Then I would need to tip again once the luggage is delivered to the room. Is that right? We'll have 5 suitcases, a couple of carry-ons and 2 car seats. Any advice?

What resort are you staying at? I've never taken a town car but heard that they sometimes will carry your bags. Not sure though.

I tip 2 bucks per bag to the person unloading the car and the person bringing up the luggage. I usually end up giving each a 20.

We're staying at the Poly and we're having Tiffany Towncar take us there from the airport.

Whew, $20 per person. That seems kind of steep, but I think $2 per bag is reasonable.

When you use a towncar, the driver will take the luggage out of the trunk. Then the bell services person will come over and put it on a cart and give you a little tag with a number on it and puts a tag on your luggage. They will sometimes tell you a little about the resort and direct you to where to check in. We give them maybe $4-$5 b/c we only have two suitcases.

I'd give each person who handles my luggage $10--more if the bags were large or heavy.

The towncar drivers do not bring your luggage to your room, and many won't even take it out of the car once you reach the resort--they don't want to step on bell services toes.
