I found this forum quite by accident and have seen many wonderful ideas and tips.

We are headed to MK, MGM, and maybe Epcot this year. I have a 5-yo daughter and 8-yo son. What is appropriate to pack to take to the parks. Of course the autograph books, camera, and sunscreen are a must but what does everyone else like to take.

This is only my second time to Disney and last time I felt prepared but at that time I had a 2-1/2 yo so we took it all...

This year I don't want to lug too much but want to be as prepared. Any great tips or ideas out there?

Thanks so much.::MickeyMo

We bring a backpack into the parks, but we do still have one left in diapers. But aside from the baby paraphanalia, we bring the things you mentioned, plus water bottles, snacks for the kids and frozen juice boxes. I also squish into a large ziploc bag an extra outfit for the kids--last time they came in handy after they played in one of the interactive fountains on kind of a cool day. I also bring antibacterial gel for our hands. That's all I can think of right now.

That should work-I hope-that is a list of stuff to take each day. We just went in Nov and we have 12 and 10 year olds. My husband and I brought backpacks and had in them:

money
ID
sunscreen
bug repellant
towel
snacks
water bottles
quarters/pennies for pressed penny machines
hopper passes and park maps
lip balm
contact rewetting drops
sunglasses
small ziploc with a few bandaids and some neosporin, etc.
pillbox with antacids and acetamenophin(sp?)
moleskin
disposable cameras
pipe cleaners( to play with when waiting in line)

That's all I can remember right now. Personally, I would buy backpacks with several pockets to keep everything separate and also with the outside netted pockets for water bottles. A plus was that ours also had inside clips for car keys(never lost the rental car keys)and a removable zippered glasses pouch. We purchased them at Target for about $15 a piece. Good Luck!!
