What to take into the park

Take those rain ponchos EVERY DAY! We took DD (then 3, turned 4 at WDW) in 2003. On her actual b-day we had breakfast at CP with Pooh & Friends. I took the camcorder this particular day, plus a small gift that "Pooh" gave to DD for her birthday. I decided we had been at WDW all week and hadn't need those darn ponchos, I was not "Lugging" them today.

Guess what? YEP! It's rained, pretty much all day!!! Not enough to spoil our fun. The parades are fireworks were not even canceled, but we were mildewed by the end of the day.

I second the motion to take those ponchos EVERYDAY!!!!

We pack small portions of many things!!

Small deodorant stick
Small first aid kit (bandaids, sample size neosporin, cut moleskin, ibuprofen, acetaminophen, Carmex, sunscreen stick, antacids)
3 cheapo ponchos
Book I made with all our trip info (4x6 thin photo album w/info printed from computer on 4x6 notecards...even added clip art, so cute!)
Ziploc bag with dollar store light sticks, bracelets
Personal H2O fan
Digital camera with extra battery and memory cards
2 Toy Story fruit snack packs
20 questions hand held game (for line waiting, even get others involved in line with us!)
Small spray bottle of BBW body spray (hate that stinky feeling in the afternoon)
Flushable baby wipes
Bottle of frozen water
Drink drop ins
Insurance cards
Room key
Cash/one credit card
Pen/Autograph book

Sounds like a lot, but it all fits in a Baggallini with room to spare and is not heavy. Small portions (that I refill at night) are key for us!

I am definately with you on the ponchos thing. Living in SoFla I can tell you that in Sept. you will probably need them at some point. I am just hoping that we won't be in any hurricane paths when we go! I am thinking that on a rainy day it mgiht be better to wear sandals to let your feet dry out.

A small flashlight. I can't tell you how many times we used ours during MVMCP to read our map or check my watch. The 4" glow sticks from $1 Tree work well for this too. Make sure you use a light color like yellow or green.

I love the glow sticks and necklaces. After using them in the park we hang them around our resort room. They work just as well as a nightlight.

Ok, I pack fairly light except I take my digetal and video camera.

room card, small amount of cash.
chap stick
Germ X
Band Aids with antibotic (coolest thing...band aids with the medicine on it already)
Moleskin
Fan
Ziplocs
cell phone

Last Feb we had the little kids and two strollers so we took a packed diaper bag. I'm really looking forward to going "light" this time. Of course I don't go anywhere without my cameras...might miss a moment!

Uhm I am not sure if I have seen it on this list or another one but

IMODIUM
ewww if you haffa make sure you know where all the bathrooms are for someone in your party! Get the ones that disolve on your tongue and you're away!! :thumbsup2 Don't know 'bout you but heat, different water, eating at odd times and pure excitment!

I bought this really cute lime green small lite backpack to use instead of a fanny pack. I found the fanny packs were too small for the stuff I wanted in them, especially the camera - and a back pack too big. I am hands free and it has all these little places to keep things organized - plus a hidden compartment for my cc and room keys. Works great and it is lime green!

Went all over the mall yesterday looking for the right messenger bag to take in the park. I can't wear a fanny pack, and love the idea of having everything accessible in the front rather than in the back, in a backpack. To make a long story short, I didn't find anything, so now I am left with the backpack option unless I happen to come accross something else, oh well :goodvibes Here is my list for the park (no kids):
Frozen water bottle
sunglasses
ID, KTTW, wallet, etc...
Extra shirt
chapstick/lipgloss
poncho
Olay Daily Facials wipes (also great for body, I use them after the gym...)
Extra ponytail holder/hairbrush
camera
and I think that's it! Maybe some days I will also pack flip flops to change into if the spirit moves me. :smooth:

Only thing I'm not bringing in my backpack from now on : Bottled Water!

Why? I always lug too much stuff to the parks (gallon size zip loc bag with clean tee shirts for each of us, snack packs, glow sticks, the list goes on).

Now, we stop at any counter service that sells fountain drinks and ask for large cups of ice water. It's free, and tastes fine. Can't count how many times a day we did that on the last trip. From now on, that's what we do. Plus as a funny side note, on the two occasions that I bought a soda for the kids they didn't drink it! :rotfl: So forget that, I just get them free water and they gulp it down.
