What to see in Epcot?

I have one day in Epcot with an ADR for Akershus for breakfast at 9:20 and the CP dinner package at 5:20 for the 8:15p show. I know that we won't get to see everything but what are the must sees? My dd's are 11 and 8 and my parents will be with us. We have never been to Epcot so I don't know where to start. We love the princesses and rides.

What does everyone suggest?

Innoventions....Sum of all thrills....Not a must see in my opinion...but its pretty neat

I also suggest doing the Living with the Land boat ride.

You will be shocked at how much you can get done....by my first thought is trying to change that Akershus breakfast till later on as early as you can...like say 8am....at 9:20 you want to be riding rides and collecting FPs to maximize your ride times....We have always got an ADR at 8am...the walk to Norway before park opening is great and you eat and get out before RD....

You should be able to do all of future world not including innoventions and the highlights of World showcase without much issue....We can usually finish FW by noon'ish and then hit WS starting at Mexico and Norway for its rides....

Since you are doing the CP package I imagine you will be down there during the holiday season. Definately do not miss some of the Holiday Storytellers in the different countries. When you enter the park you can get a schedule. They usually last about 15 minutes (then you can do photos and autographs after) and each country usually does it 5 or 6 times a day. We love all the rides (and don't miss Soarin' and TestTrack and Nemo) but they are there all the time. Try to get in Spaceship Earth also. This way you can say you did the ride in the big golf ball. The Holiday Storytellers are in each country and they tell the story of how the holidays are celebrated in their country.

Also, make sure to watch IllumiNations at the end of the evening (9:30). From the day after Thanksgiving until December 30 they add a special ending to this and it is so worth it.

My top suggestions would be: Soarin', Test Track (Fastpasses would be helpful for these two) and Illuminations to top off a great day.
Other things your family might enjoy: Spaceship Earth, Turtle Talk With Crush, Kim Possible (A great way for your daughters to enjoy World Showcase) Captain EO and Living With The Land....Hope these help, enjoy your trip!

Soarin' and ride Malestrom sine you will already be right there.

I think your kids would love all the above, plus any of the Kim Possible Missions in World Showcase. And don't forget Spaceship Earth. The American Adventure is great when you need to sit for a while.

You should be able to get quite a bit done if you have a plan in advance and use fastpasses. Our must do's are Soarin', Mission Space (if you get motion sickness do green instead of orange but orange is way cooler), Test Track and Living with the Land. If you are short on time, I would skip Journey into Imagination (boring) and Universe of Energy (very long). We also really like Turtle Talk with Crush, Maelstrom, and Spaceship Earth. My kids adore the Kim Possible missions in World Showcase. They are a really fun way for kids to tour the countries.

Try to get a fast pass for Soarin or Test Track when you arrive to use after your breakfast and that will help. Also I suggest getting your hands on a copy of the Unofficial Guide to WDW and checking out their touring plans. I have found that really helps us see the max number of attractions in the shortest time. If you don't want to purchase a guide, check your public library.

I'd recommend getting to the park early enough to get Soarin' fast passes before your ADR. After you eat head straight to Test Track. Then do Mission Space. The order of the rest of the rides should be less critical after that. I really like American Adventure, and taking time to stroll around WS and soak in the details!

I still think I would try to change it to later if possible....try for the last breakfast seating 11:10 is last seating....or perhaps the first lunch seating...get as far away from opening as you can....You wont regret it

It's amazing to see just how much people's opinions vary! I actually consider Living With the Land a Must Miss.


I love most things in Epcot, but IMO the things you must see are:


Spaceship Earth: An awesome ride detailing landmarks in history of man on earth.

American Adventure: An abridged history of America - also the most amazing Audioanimatronic show Disney has ever done.

Test Track: Pretty much the park's only "thrill ride" - (unless you count Mission Space, which I don't).

World Showcase: Stroll through the entire Showcase, visit every country, look in every shop. The detail is incredible.


Some of my honorable mentions include: Soarin', O Canada (film), Maelstrom, Gran Fiesta Tour, Circle of Life (film).

Thanks for all of the replies. I was thinking that we could get FP's before our ADR, then eat then do the rides. I will have 5 maybe 6 for our ADR so that makes an early ADR hard to get at this point. Should I can get a 8:30 ADR for 6, eat and then try to get FP's?

Others suggested this, too, but want to remind you again that the ride Maelstrom is right there in Norway where you will be for your princess meal. Maelstrom is a great ride in a viking ship. It has a little bit of zip to it.

Soarin', of course, is a must ride and I like the land ride because it's educational and really interesting. I'm not wild about Test Track but if you and the kids love fast, bumpy rides this is the one for you.

We always split Epcot into 2 days, spending one in future world and one in World Showcase. There's so much to see and do. Have fun. We will be at WDW the day after Christmas through New Years and will spend 2 days at Epcot. Cannot WAIT.

Soarin, Test Track, Maelstrom at Norway, go to the bakery in France, adults should get a slushy at France, check out the shop in Japan, and try some of the different beverages at the global coca-cola station, near the large fountain.
