My 5 year old son can be a little shy so some things I have said to the characters to get some interaction started for him
Goofy- Asked him how Max was doing in school
Dale- It should be Dale and Chip instead of Chip and Dale
Donald- Ask him how his nephews are and what they are doing
Definitely tell all the characters how much you love their movie

It will also inhance your experience because the characters will have something to play off of. Otherwise, you'll just get a hug and a wave and then goodbye. Just try to ask things in ways that make it easier for them to respond if they are of the non-talking variety. For example, rather than saying "Are you Chip or Dale?" just say "Are you Chip?" or "Are you Dale?" (i.e a yes or no question, or something that can be answered by depicting an emotion or an action.)

- I have a Tigger backpack that I carry in the parks, either Tigger ears or a Tigger hat, and then usually a Tigger shirt when eating at the Crystal Palace. Tigger loves to see all of this & I usually get some attention from the other characters that don't like my Tigger backpack. Pooh picked it up & hugged it once, Piglet ran off with it.
