We have decided to spend the last week of August at the Polynesian in a gardenview concierge room. We have never stayed at this resort and so far the only thing I have requested is a non smoking room. Is there anything you would suggest we request to get a better view or location? I really want this to be special so any advice is really appreciated.

The first floor has a patio and the third floor has a balcony but the second floor has none.

We made our reservations very last minute early last week for 7/9 and wandering if I will get a call or form in the mail to send back. Should I call them for special requests?

Heather, I would definitely call them. You really do not have that much time left so get things started right away. Have a great vacation.

It's hard to go wrong! First floor has nice patios, second floor has the lounge just a few steps away (no stairs), and third floor has balconies. I personally would avoid third floor due to smoking optional, and a balcony doesn't mean much to me without lagoon view. Your view will be of the quiet pool.

My family will also being staying at the Poly Conc GV last week of August! I would love to have a balcony but can't handle anything that smells like smoke and so we requested 1st floor. I'm hoping for something with a nice view and semi-private. I am looking forward to sitting out at night with DH while the kids sleep and sharing a few quiet moments. Too bad the 2nd floor does not have balconies!

I will be at LV concierge the last week of August. It sounds like alot of us will be there maybe we should all meet.

We are really excited to stay at the Polynesian. We have two girls (ages 1 and 6). My six year old loved Lilo and Stitch so needless to say, she is counting the days until August 25th. I think 1st floor sounds like the way to go. We really do not want anything that smells like smoke. Anyone else bringing their kids that last week?

We are also arriving at the end of August. Sounds like a popular place that time of year!

It will be our first trip to Disney. We keep changing our plans (I can't even count how many changes I've made) but I think I've finally decided that we are staying at the AKL then moving over to the Poly LVC on the 29th of August. Unless I change my mind again, lol!

Have any of you used the cribs at the Poly? I am really hoping they are not just the pack and play variety. Is the room large enough for two adults and two children to be comfortable. We were a bit disappointed last year at AKL because the rooms were so small. Thanks.

We are also arriving on the 25th! It is the first trip to Disney for DH, DD's (6 &4) and DS (3). I was there last as a kid and this is our very first family vacation!! After reading these pages we made the switch from CR over to the Poly. The fall fling codes online really caught our attention ----to stay at the CR Tower club w/limited concierge was only $20 less a night then Poly Concierge the switch seemed like a no brainer! My only regret is giving up a balcony, after all this trip is also for mom & dad --right??

Our kids can not wait to see Lilo & Stitch (grandma wants to take them so they have to wait until the weekend of the 4th). So, to keep them in the spirit we bought the soundtrack for the movie and I now have three little Elvis fanatics running around;) . For anyone planning a trip to the Poly I highly recommend the Disney Sing Alongs VHS tape "Beach Party at Walt Disney World." Our girls have been singing "Pearly Shells" and telling everyone they are going to a "Hukilau". And now with the Lilo & Stitch movie our little guy wants to know when we are going to Lilo's house. The timing for all this just couldn't be better!! Their excitement has really made this a special time for us as a family and we have two months to go until our trip!! We are keeping our fingers crossed for a character breakfast with Lilo & Stitch --I really think it would be the highlight of the whole trip!! Boy this is long ---Am I crazy to be this excited??!:bounce: :bounce:
