well I am heading down to disney in November for family trip. I want to do a welcome basket/bag/box/whatever for my nephew and my niece. My nephew just turned 3 yesterday :) my niece will have turned 1 by the time we arrive (I realize she wont have a clue what is happening, but I wont leave that little cutie out and I know my sister-in-law will appreciate the thought)

I am also going in Oct so I will be picking up a few items and need help trying to figure out what to put into box/basket/bag/whatever.

so far my thoughts are:

for nephew: stuffed animal/character, hat/mouse ears, chocolate disney coins (he was crazy for them when I took him in june)

for niece: stuffed animal/character.....umm yeah :rotfl:

no clue what to get a 1 yr old and need more stuff for my nephew as well.

please hit me with yout suggestions and help me add some extra :wizard: to this family trip

What about the mickey shaped pretzels for both - a great snack for them while there. Maybe a picture frame - I know it's not really a kid thing but would be great to put a picture from there trip in it - or a character front photo album for their most memorable moments. Magnet of some sort ride/character/theme they love. Sippie cup - disney themed of course. A light up toy/spinner for nephew. Autograph book for older child to get character signatures. A tshirt. A princess dress for niece??? If she would be able to wear it in MK or at a dinner....would make a great picture!!!

I'm putting together gift bags for my nieces (2 & 4) which they'll get the morning we're leaving (saying it's from Mickey). I made them Tshirts (front has a pic of Mickey driving a Jeep and says "On my way to Mickey Mouses' House!) and the back has a picture of Tink and says, "Eat my pixie dust!" with some glittery silver paint to look like pixie dust.) I made them some coloring pages (Disney themed) and bound them so it's like a coloring book (included blank pages as well just so they can draw free hand). I also got them some regular coloring books and I plan to get some candy bars and make some Mickey themed wrappers to place around them.

The other two items I purchased from Disneydeals.com (a great site if you never checked it out! It's Disney owned and operated.) I got them each a Snow White fashion plate set (didn't know they still made these!) and got them each a pair of Minnie sun glasses.

Mickey sure does spoil them! <g>

Anyway, you might want to check out DisneyDeals because they have a lot of theme park clothing, stuffed animals and toys at deep deep discounts.

Have a great trip!

I made up bags once and did this....

the guest of honor badges, dinsey candy from the disney store, a lanyard and a pin on them, autograph books and pens, disposable camera ( target had them once with the princesses on them)

If the kids pin trade, you can find cheap ones on ebay!! We are going with 24 people ( 13 of them kids ) in January. Id like to get some special Happiest Celebration on Earth things for bags. Even if I just buy them all golden ears!! I think they have new autograph books out too. I will look around while Im there in November.

Do you want to impress the kids or the parents?
If this is strictly for the kids, don't put too much stuff in the basket as it will over whelm them.
A disney stuffed animal, some snacks, a light up toy/necklace or maybe a hat.

:rotfl: dont want to impress anyone, though the 1 yr old's basket would mostly be symbolic as she likely wont 'get' the whole thing, she unfortunately is far away and I dont get to see her much. My nephew on the other hand lives just down the road from me and I spoil the *$&$ out of him already..but that wont stop me from continuing to do so ;)

By the Pooh ride, they had these great shortbread cookes with pooh on them. I also saw these at DTD. My two year olds loved these. Also, maybe a t-shirt or hat to keep the sun out of her eyes?

HTH.

Tricia (mom to 3 princesses and one little prince)

I purchased a bunch of stuff at home and I am bringing it down to add into my newphew's gift bag..

Bought a package of little (wedding type) bubbles - dollar store. He can play with them at the resort or while standing in line at the parks

Glow necklaces - at the dollar store--enough so he can make some friends while waiting for the parades and Fantasmic

The new Stitch DVD for him to watch before bed time at the resort.

Pillow case for the characters to sign

Disposable camera (this is more for my entertainment...I'm curious to see what he will take pictures of)

Coloring books and crayons (Mickey and Pooh) I bought the big crayon wheel they have at World of Disney that has character shaped crayons.

Some of those little towels that get big when they get wet...makes bath time fun! Disney Store has tons of that kind of stuff that is pretty inexpensive

I also went to the Rainforest and picked him up a few little things like some plastic dinos, and jungle animals.

I put everything into a sand pail, he can play with it at Typhoon Lagoon or at the sandbox at the resort.

Like everything else in life it depends, but I personally stay away from giving stuffed animals.
I only have 2 kids but enough stuffed animals for 30!
Uncles, Aunts, grandparents....they always give stuffed animals!
Arrghhh!!!!!!!

You can't go wrong with those "twirly light-up thingys" though.
The one year old might even get it to work too, depending.
Even though they spin they are soft and don't hurt any, depending.
;)

Another thing is those Disney maps at the parks.
My kids love the maps.
They look through them at tell me where they want to go 6 months after we've been there.
Even my 2 year old enjoys looking at the maps.

Get a light up toy for your nephew for sure! Every :cool1: time we go as soon a a parade starts my son wants another one. Got smart and started packing the ones he has!
