What to pack in August?

We've been to WDW in April, June, and November, but this will be our first time going in August. We'll be there August 24-30, and I'm not sure what to pack. Is there any reason to pack pants or sweatshirts? I'm thinking maybe a light jacket for everyone and maybe one pair of pants, just in case, and of course a bunch of ponchos, but we're flying Spirit so I don't want to pack anything we don't need.

Appreciate any advice about late August weather in the parks!

We spent our August trip in shorts and t-shirts/tank tops. It was very hot and really humid.

A few tips I would recommend:
- shorts and t-shirts were totally fine for us in the evenings but I do wish I had carried a light sweater during the days. Some buildings/shops/restaurants were so air conditioned I would get goosebumps, and the temp difference between inside and outside was jarring. No sweaters needed at night, but a light one could be nice indoors.
- even though it's stinking hot, I wore running shoes with socks most days. It seems counterintuitive, but it was much more comfortable than sandals
- we took spray sunscreen so we could reapply frequently and easily, which made a huge difference. And we went through a lot of it--I would pack extra unless you're okay with paying the high prices in hotel gift shops.

Sweatshirts!?!?!!? I will give you $1,000 to wear a sweatshirt in August at Disney...

No pants or sweaters - we packed shorts, T-shirts and bathing suits.
I found August the easiest to pack for out of all of our trips - summer clothes, sunscreen, hats. I could fit the clothes for all 4 of us in one suitcase :)

No sweater or pants necessary. Bring lots of sunscreen and drink lots of water.

Not necessarily, we go every August and I always bring a hoodie since I'm always cold. So does my mom when she comes with us. If you're like us I'd bring one just in-case. I also suggest misting fans, sandals, and a pair of sneakers.

We go every August and I cannot even imagine a wearing a sweatshirt or pants. Even when the sun sets, it is still unbelievably hot.

Seriously, I take a set of sweats, but I wear them in the room with the A/C cranked cold. You might want to carry a light wrap for on the plane, but leave room for it in your carry-on because you'll be ditching it as soon as you land. Brita makes a personal filtered water bottle that might come in handy. Lightweight cotton or technical shirts, shorts as high up as you dare (although I prefer floppy cargo shorts to avoid carrying a bag of any kind), high-end sandals will let your feet breathe (but be sure to remember to put sunblock on your feet).
