What to pack in April???

Hi all. We will be in WDW the week of April 9th . I am just wondering should we pack only shorts or should we pack pants also? Does anyone know what the weather usually is around that time. Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the DIS!

Average highs at that time of year are in the low 80s, with morning lows in the upper 50s.

Realistically, you could have daytime highs anywhere between 70 and 85, with morning lows anywhere between 50 and 65.

I was there April 2004 and 2005.

It was COLD the first few nights of each trip.

In 2004 I was walking around MK and DTD looking for a CHEAP sweatshirt.

I walked my son down to the pool, because he just HAD to go for swim. There were a ton of kids swimming while the parents sat pool side wrapped in towels and jackets.

Did I learn my lesson? Nope, last year I spent the 2nd night of our trip walking around MGM looking for cheap sweatshirts. The cheapest thing had were $25.00 towels and they were going fast.

We took jackets/hoodies when we left the room each morning. By noon, we were putting them away.

After the cold spells pasted we were fine.

This year I'm planning to pack sweatshirts for each of us.

We too are going in April- I am glad to see someone asked this question. I think I will take sweatshirts for us all reading this. Did you wear shorts with your sweatshirts? I am trying to decide what to be buying for my little ones as they have out grown a lot of their summer stuff from last year but I was sure to be getting shorts or capris for our trip.

I wore shorts and Capris.

It did get hot during both of our trips (not as hot as our August trip )
