This is our first trip to disney world and i am not sure as what to pack...Will the weather be warm enough for shorts and for swimming suits??? should i pack stuff for all seasons...Help!!!

We'll be going again this February. I'm looking at photos of our first winter trip (1st week of Feb 2003) and I'm still undecided. It seemed spring-like. There were people in shorts and t-shirts, but mostly sheat shirts and windbreakers as it was a bit nippy at times. My son braved the Stormalong Bay pool (it got as high as the low 70's and was Ok in the sun). We just sat there by the pool thinking of how our car was sitting under 2 feet of snow at the airport in Syracuse and we got warm real quick. We've heard it sometimes gets a little hotter - sometimes get colder. I'm just hoping for the in-between.

I'm facing the same packing question as we will be in Disney Jan 24-28 ... it's much easier to pack for an August vacation ... you know it's going to be HOT, lol!

So I'm thinking layers ... will bring our swimsuits as I'm sure the grandkids will want to swim (and will pack their bulky terry bathrobes for the trip to and from the pool).

My grandson has several pairs of zip-off pants, so I figure I'll bring the pants with long and short sleeved tees, a lightweight jacket and a polar fleece pullover.

For my grandaughter I'll bring long and short sleeved tees, knit pants, capris, maybe a couple of pairs of shorts (hopefully I'll be able to mix & match), a lightweight jacket and a polar fleece pullover.

I tend to wear short sleeve tees with a lightweight demin shirt tossed over them all winter with jeans ... so that's what I'm packing for myself, along with, you guessed it ... a lightweight jacket.

Oh, and I'll be bringing our Mickey ponchos in case of rain.

We spent Christmas week in Disney back in 1992 and in all the photos we are wearing jeans, tees and lightweight jackets.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to wear the first week of March? Thanks! :teeth:

www.wdwig.com has historical weather pages - forgive me if this exists here too. I am still exploring.

We are going in February and I know it can get cold and I know it can get warm - its just a tricky time of year - I have even worn sweaters during this time before. I think the wet weather factor is a little lower than other times.

March is a little warmer - its very tough to say exactly but check out the historical weather pages and pack layers. I am from MA and sixties feel warm to us - it was just in the upper sixties this past weekend here and this is the temp that is norm for Feb in FL, and it felt sooo warm. We had shorts and short sleeved shirts on all weekend.

I was down in May this year and I hated it - it was upper eighties to nineties and super humid every day - I will take jacket weather over that any day but I am goofy like that. :smooth:

As you can see below, we're becoming veterans of Feb trips. We have seen everything from 80s and sunshine to 60s and windy and chilly. You need to bring a litte bit of everything and dress in layers. With the questionable days, we usually wear shorts with sweatshirts. What we end up doing, is spending a day at the pool and doing laundry. Somehow laundry doesn't seem so bad when you're sitting by the pool.

We did a feb trip a few years ago. I definetely overpacked on the sweatshirts. A light jacket was fine with tee and sweatshirt underneath if it got colder and our 3 ds loved their zip off pants. It actually got hot in the mk one day. One thing I wish I brought would have been definetely a hooded sweatshirt for the trip out of the pool. This is needed with warm sweatpants. One ds got sick with his run from the volcano pool back to our poly room in aeorotora. I know the pools are heated but I would definetely only stick to daytime swimming in the future. That chill at night is just way too cold, even when we are knowing its snowing back home.

My grandkids have hooded terry bathrobes that I'm planning to bring with us ... they'll be bulky to packed, but worth it for the pool to room dash.

My family and I went to WDW last February and are returning this February. The weather was great. We had a sweatshirt or light jacket for the morning or evenings but during the day we were definately in shorts. As far as swimming goes, all the pools at Disney are heated so try for lunch or shortly after on a sunny day and you should be fine. Good luck, have a great time!

What about shoes? On all of our other trips we wore sandals. I was thinking sandals would be too cold this time. Is that correct or would they still be good?

Feb can really range in temps. Some days we were in shorts and other days in sweats. We needed a sweatshirt of light jacket for most nights. The zip off pants are great and Gapkids tends to have alot of them. I would definately bring sneakers. We'll be back there again in Feb and can't wait.:earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy:
