What to pack for breakfast?

Toaster ovens or any cooking appliances are not allowed in rooms at Disney resorts (usually any resorts anywhere for that matter) that do not have a kitchen in them because the electric outlets are not rated for them, and the safety measures (such as fire extinguishers) are not in place in the room, so they are a fire hazard. Also, if you are caught with them you will be told to leave the resort. All of this info is also on Mousesavers.

If you ask at the Poly or GF (those are the only two I know for certain from my own experience), they will bring a microwave to your room for you to use. If the outlets are rated for a microwave, wouldn't they be able to handle a toaster? :confused3

It sounds to me like they're trying to discourage irresponsible in-room cooking, which makes perfect sense. But to say "the outlets aren't rated" for appliances isn't logical if they're hooking up refrigerators and microwaves.

You can make instant oatmeal using hot water from the in-room coffee maker.

This is a great tip! I'm been lamenting the fact that there was no microwave to use for instant oatmeal, which both me and my daughter love! This will be an easy to pack and cheap breakfast for us. Thanks for mentioning that!

If only staying 1 week, a foam cooler from the food store (about $3) and ice from the resort machine works well to keep milk cold over night.

Where do you buy the cooler? At Disney? We fly and use Disney Transportation.
