Any tips on what to pack for 6 month old to make the trip easier? Not sure how much "gear" I should intend on taking! We're flying there and staying on Disney property so no rental car or stuff like that necessary. TIA.

A carrier like a bjorn or something. Sunblock. Food-Disney does have baby food but not a huge selection at all. Extra diapers and wipes. They have wonderful baby care centers where you can take a break from the parks to feed, change, and relax for a bit in. We used them in every park, they were wonderful. Can't think of anything else.

We leave on Sunday with our 8-month old DD. What I did was sit down and run through our entire day from the moment she wakes up until she goes to sleep - I jotted down all of the things we use during that time then I crossed out non-essential items. That's how I got my list of what to take. I'm a minimalist when it comes to packing so we're taking the bare minimum, but with an 8-month old, there's still quite a bit!

Here's a sample list:
diapers, wipes, vaseline, diaper rash cream, bottles, formula, bibs, burp cloths, pacis, washcloths, blankets, etc.

I can pm the list I'm working off of for packing this week if you'd like to give you an idea of what we're bringing. Let me know if you'd like to take a look.

HGD24 -- I'd very much appreciate a copy of your list to make sure I'm not forgetting anything. Usually I pack way ahead of time, but with only 1 week left, I still have shopping to do...I don't know what's taking me so long.

I'm really new to posting on boards, so I don't think I can pm you yet. Do you need anymore info to pm me?

I just sent you a pm with the full list. Hopefully you can retrieve it - if not, let me know and I'll try to figure something out.

Thanks, got your list. Leaving for Target in a few minutes...oh, I'm so excited and stressed about packing, that my heart is beating fast!

The lighter you can travel, the better. We were on formula at 7 months when we went. I took enough nipples for one day and used disposable bottles. Then I would do "dishes" at night--so a little thing of dish soap (I used an old travel shampoo bottle). And to the parks, I only carry what I need for that time out. We would go back in the afternoon so I would repack for each time out--usually one meal and a diaper.

We also had toys for when we were getting ready. But you never need as many as you take because you're never in the room long enough to lounge (us anyway). When kid was awake, we were off and running.

And while it's expensive, your resort will have anything you need. My 40-pack of wipes was gone one day before we went home. So I bought some at the gift shop. They're not going to go to waste, they're just more than you'd pay at Target.

Give us your list when you get back and we'll fill in the holes for you.

Can you also PM me the list? I am leaving in 6 days with my 10 month old and want to see if I'm forgetting anything! Thanks!

I agree on packing only what you need. We're bringing just a few fav toys that we've put away (she hasn't seen them in about a week) so that she'll have something to play with during meals and when we're getting ready in the mornings. We're packing just a few diapers, wipes, packets of baby food and a few bottles worth of formula then having the rest delivered using wegoshop.com. We also plan to use Playtex Nursers while we're there. We'll pack one bottle, a few liners and nipples for the day and then just toss the liners in the recycling when we're done and the used nipples in a quart-sized Ziploc. We'll wash them everynight so we'll only bring enough to get us through the day. We're also not bringing a ton of clothes since we'll be doing laundry mid-trip. We don't care if she wears the same outfit twice in one trip.

If you are planning on using the pack-n-play in the resort room- bring your own blankets. They provide a fitted sheet, but no blankets.
Bring a small cooler for snacks. Those small soft sided ones are perfect.
Cornstarch/powder for heat rash in those baby folds.
Sun hat/baby safe sunscreen
Plenty of ziplock bags to seal away dirty clothes and wet things.
Pack diapers, wipes and a disposable liner in their own ziplock bags so you can just grab one and go into the changing areas or bathroom.
Just go with the flow. Each park has a baby care area and will have a stock of supplies that you may forget.

Have fun!

Yep, I always did the ziploc thing for bottle nipples. I would put a piece of tape on the baggie marked clean and dirty. Started that when we had to go out of town when DD was 3 months old.

I also took a small nylon lunch bag for food and formula. Even on solids, I sometimes still do it so I can get to it fast. We were able to use the ready-made bottles of formula, so we had no water and measuring to do. I know everyone is not so fortunate.

We also don't have clothes problems. I'm a clothes fiend so DD does wear something different everyday, but I certainly don't have to pack two outfits for each day or anything. Plus Tide makes those new things for the sink. But I don't know if I would have used that when she was 6 months or not. I wash her stuff in ours now so I'm less concerned.

DD also had quite a bit of hair at 7 months and would never keep on a hat. I don't even think I took one. We're already stressing about winter....

YUP - soft-sided lunch bag and gel ice pack are on the list. The gel pack is in case it's really warm, I'd like to keep her water cool and figure it's easier to warm up a bottle than cool one down. She drinks room temp bottles so we don't have to heat them up too much.

At Target, we found single packets of liquid Tide, original scent. We use that for our clothes and Tide free for DD's, but for this trip, if we do have to wash anything of DD's, it will have to be washed in the regular Tide.

We'll be putting each outfit in a ziploc so it's easy to just grab and go whether we're in the room or in a park. No fussing with digging through a pile of clothes to find the pants that match the shirts, etc.

We'll do the same with any meal supplies - a bowl, a spoon, baby food & a bib - all in one ziploc. Again, easy to grab rather than dig through a diaper bag or backpack looking for each item.

Thanks everyone - you guys are great!

I think I have (or will have soon) everything I need. Are you guys able to fit everything in one suitcase? We're taking 2 suitcases (carryon size) and running out of room (DH's and my stuff in one, with my 3yo and 6month old's stuff in the other, including our miscellaneous).

I haven't started putting anything into suitcases yet so I can't say for sure. I'm sure we'll have 2 suitcases that we'll check and 2 backpacks for carryons.
