what to pack? 3 night cruise

Ok well we have never cruised before so what should we pack. How formal are the formal nights and how does everyone dress for meals?

We are also taking a 3 night cruise (also our first).

According to what we have read there is no "formal" night.

We are also interested in what others have to say about what to wear to dinner.

You don't need to pack much on a 3 night cruise!

You are correct... there is no formal night.

On my 3 night cruise I had 2 pairs of dress slacks and 3 tops to mix and match. Hubby wore dress shirt and a tie to Tritons only and then wore a nice polo to the other two restauraunts.

If you like to wear dresses, bring one dress and one pair of slacks and 2 tops to wear. What ever you like. They try to take a photo of you in Triton's so if you dress nice it's fun.

Basically you need to bring two outfits per day - one for during the day around ship or shore excursions and one for evening. Your day outfit will be whatever you are comfortable with walking around the ship or shore...whatever's appropriate for the season. In the evening the dress is more like business casual or better...but not formal. For men, that's slacks and a nice shirt. For women there's more options. If you go to Palo the dress is a bit more formal.
