I am considering putting in an application package for a teaching position for a different district. My letters of recommendation for the job I currently have are about 3 years old. I am updating these letters, mostly because I now have some work experience under my belt. I have a teacher that I have known for 10 years in the district I am applying to writing one, but she asked me what I would like her to include in the letter. I haven't worked with her, but she watched and gave me much support as I was going through college. She was also one of the reasons I went back to college to become a teacher (in my 40s!!)

What do I want in a letter of recommendation?

Thanks so much!
Karen

I would suggest the letter should give examples of your positive attributes and skills and how they relate to teaching.

Your friend should also include her phone number in case the prospective employer wishes to contact her.
