Okay, i've been datingmy boyfriend for 8 months and i've no idea what to get him for x-mas! he simply said he wouldnt tell until i told him what i want, and i dont even know that! HELP! :earseek:

How old is he and how much money do you want to spend? Does he have any hobbies? It really depends on the guy. Just think about the things he likes and his interests. If you have been dating seriously for 8 months, you should have no problem coming up with something. Here are some ideas that might work:

Cologne
Something related to a sports team he likes (hoodie, tie)
Golf stuff
Something for his car
Tools
Clothes
DVDs
CDs
Video Games (XBox, PS2,..)

How about movie gift certificates, so that he can take you out to see some movies? Also, if he's a "car guy" like my DH, a subscription to Car and Driver or Road and Track. There are tons of iPod accessories out now too, in case he has an iPod. It all depends on your budget and his tastes. :flower:

that's true..he doesn't drive yet, he'll be 16 in march..yeah it's been pretty serious..i dont have much of an imagination for gifts! such a terrible thing, too..

This is my third Christmas w/ DBF... he's been a hard guy to shop for since he is really into useful stuff and also is very low maintenance. I'm pretty much done shopping for him this year too- this is what I've gotten now/in the past:

-DVDs (one season set, one movie)
-CLOTHES - he didn't have great clothes before we met since he didn't have the $$ for them, so I've bought him tons of clothes at my part time retail job at a nice store. I mainly buy him clothes :)
- a nice silver watch
-Bath & Body men's shower gel
-Cologne
-shaving set stuff from Avon
-a ring (a manly version of a claddagh ring- he's Irish)
-winter gloves
- a coffee tumbler from Starbucks that I put pictures in. Since he's a guy and it would be embarassing to put pics of us in it, I cut out pictures of places we've been- a beach, a lighthouse, a lake in wintertime, etc. Looks like he just bought it made like that somewhere.

Also, each year I try to do something personal on top of just buying him things he needs:
-this year I bought a fondue set and will use it to have a night for him for his bday (jan 6th)- w/ sushi, candles and fruit chocolate fondue. I'm also buying him a 6 pack assortment of rare beers ( a store here has them by the bottle, fill your own sixpack). This wouldn't go for you since BF is 15!
-the first year I made a small photo album and put pictures of us on one page and the facing page was a quote - some were silly, some were lovey, others were just lyrics to a song. I printed the quote on computer paper and used scrapbook scissors to cut them out and tape them to patterned scrapbook paper
-last year I got a frame engraved at Things Remembered and put a pic of us in it

I can't remember everything I've ever gotten him... hope some of this helped!

Video Games are always a good present for a guy IMHO.

Heck I still like them and I am in my 30's.

I think he probably doesn't know what to suggest because he has no idea of what price range you are expecting. I would have a very clear conversation. "I want to make sure we are on the same page about gifts and that there are no misunderstandings, how about if we set a $20 limit (or whatever limit you think will work) and just get each other something simple that we think each other will enjoy?"

He's probably sweating it, wondering what you're expecting. He doesn't want to show up with a homemade CD of your favorite music or a stuffed animal, etc. and you show up with $100 watch and expectations of jewelry. He also doesn't want to risk showing up with diamond earrings and you show up with a paperback book you thought he would enjoy. Either way, he cares about you and doesn't want to hurt you. Why not make it easy and confront the spending issue dead on? That's what I always did the first "gift occasion" of any relationship I was in.
