What to Expect?

This christmas will be my first time at disney ever. i am 22 years old what should i be expecting i am going down with my gf and her parents over christmas and new years. What are some things to expect with it being
my first time down there?

We were there 12/25/07 to 1/02/08 for a baseball tournament, so we had a different schedule than someone who would be there strictly for the parks.
We went to MK on 12/26 (early) and it wasn't that bad...but as the day and week wore on, it did get more crowded.
I would expect longer than normal wait times than usual for everything - food, transportation, rides, but WDW is also beautifully decorated at this time of the year...
I think as long as you know what to expect and have some patience and a flexible plan, you'll enjoy your vacation....
