What to expect week of April 18th?

We are coming the 19th...everyone wear lots of lime green if you're flying out of TF Green...I need some sun!!!:earsgirl:

well, looks like it may be crowded after all! We will also be there the 18-25, from Beantown. I don't know what accent you are talking about though (lol). My husband is from Texas, and he still can't understand half of what I say!
See you all down there!

Oh my gawd!! I will be there the 18-25 with, get this, 50 people. The Beverly High Softball Team. By the way. We speak correctly, the King's English, my de-ah! ;) . Hope we all have the BEST of times.
My family has only been to DW on this particular week. The only time we had a crummy crowd was noontime at MK the day before Easter. No wonder! I actually expect the crowds to be smaller this time.

we will be there too-our vacation from teaching! Often go this week- yes, it can be crowded especially toward the first weekend as those there from Easter week get ready to depart. Just have a wonderful time. Caroline :teacher:

That will be a busy week. The bands and show choir from Oliver Ames high school in Easton will also be there.

I graduated from Beverly High (in 1976-before you were probably born!)
Are you playing at the WWS? Maybe we'll stop by and cheer on the hometown team!:wave2:

MelissathePooh - I see you are in East Lansing. I graduated from State in 90 then went to Auburn.

It looks like it will be busy but I imagine not as bad as this week or next!

We went this week in 1998. AK was having its soft opening.

I thought the crowds were borderline light the whole week. I remember thinking that the Polynesian did not feel fully booked, which I think is a good indicator. A few years before that we had been there the last week of March/first week of April and there were certainly crowds then.

We'll be at WDW April 18-23 and wondering what to expect in terms of crowd size. It is crazy right now but most schools should be back in session. I know schools in New England are off that week but I can't imagine the crowds will be anything like this week or next. What would you anticipate lines for attractions to be? Like to hear your thoughts (well...actually read your thoughts).
Now when a Bostonian talks about "New England" he is referring to greater Boston most times. So, yes, Mass has school vacation that week, as does my home State of Maine (which as we know was part of Mass until 1820). The rest of New England (by which I mean the other four States in the region;)), does not celebrate Patriots' Day and so generally schedule school vacation closer to Easter.

So that's Mass with 6mm residents and Maine with maybe 1.3mm for 7.3mm people, out of a US population of say 260mm. That's less than 3% of the US on school vacation that week, so much better crowds. You will still get empty-nesters (doubtless heading to Epcot's Flower & Garden fest) and folks who pull their kids out of school and folks with pre-schoolers.

So I would expect more moderate crowds than during most school vacations, but since the weather is so great then, probably bigger crowds than in the true off-season (like Sept, early Dec and Jan).

More Bostonians heading south for spring break. We are a family of 5 and meeting my sister and her family (4) there. DD #1 is also meeting a few friends at the boardwalk and DH is meeting his friend and family there too!!!

DD#2's teacher and her family will be there, along with other families in our town!!!

Watch out Disney............here we come!!!

Heading down from the Boston area on the 16th. Staying at Carribean Beach. Havent been down since '97 and cant wait. The girls (12 & 4) are excited and are bouncing off the walls already... :Pinkbounc :bounce:

OKAY....where are my fellow New Yorkers!??!!!! I can't be the only one who wants to get away from SNOW in April that week!!

I bet you can guess where we are from though.

We'll be taking the kids out of school to go on the Mickey Ship and then to the parks April 22. We've always gone in summer whenit was 95 degrees and the parks closed at 11:00, so this will be different for us.

DW and I are also coming down 4/18 - 4/23...Staying at OKW,,,,,,I will be the one wearing the AROD stuff......Cant wait to see the REDSOX FANS,,,,LOL:wave:

So I guess I know there won't be any crowds in Boston anyway!
Here's two more familys from Ma's northshore! We will be down
4/15-4/23 and I'll be celebrating the big 40 with Mickey! We have been down in the first week of May and found it to be beautiful and managable regarding crowds, needless to say just being
there is better than here! And I'm with the driving crew this time around so I hear you first day catch up then watch out WDW!
POFQ!:bounce: princess: :Pinkbounc pirate:

Oh, my heavens, y'all. I'm gonna feel like I'm stuck in a Cheer's episode with ten thousand Cliff Klavens. :teeth:

Y'know where that missing 'r' in 'cah' and 'pahk' is? You dropped it last time you vacationed here, and we picked it up and stuck it on the end of 'Atlanter'. (We'll, it is a perfectly good 'r'; no point in wasting it, and it's not like we could just mail it back to you...)

You're welcome to stop by and pick it up this time around. (Please.) Lord knows our dialect is odd enough, even without adding any extra letters.

See y'all there. I'll be the one with the funny accent.
