My mom and I are considering a possible disney trip this Spring Break (around March 21-28)

We have never traveled at this time, and are looking for some info!
More importantly, we want to know what to expect crowd level wise for spring break. Originally form boston, our breaks were in April and Feb....we never had a break in March. I have traveled at Christmas time...but we got spoiled when Disney upgraded us to the POLY, and it didn't even feel remotely crowded there. This time we'd be looking at a value, or maybe a moderate!

I know values are usually mobbed at that time (from what I've read). So I'm slightly skeptical! Can anyone share thier past experiences?
Also, what about price....Does Disney offer discounts or packages for this time? What can we expect in that department!
Depending on the price, we could upgrade to a moderate.

Any comments would be great!

Wether you feel crowded or not in your resort, you will be crowded in the parks. The closer to Easter, the more crowded it will be. Easter week can be almost as bad as Christmas (to some extent)

As long as it's not the week before Easter, we find it to be very reasonable. To us, having the parks stay open later more than make up for having more people (as compared to let's say early Obtober, late January) in the parks. We'd rather wait 20 minutes for a ride instead of 15, but then get to stay at the park for an extra few hours, as we love the parks at night. Even though we're not at the mercy of school schedules to visit WDW, we still often like to visit in March.

Spring break is a fun time to visit! The weather is really nice and the mood is very upbeat with everyone taking a break from the winter snow up north. Try to get a discount code for a moderate if possible, celebrating youth may keep you up at night in a value resort. Even if you stay at a value you will still have a blast, just bring earplugs!

Since that is Easter week, you can expect the crowds to be massive & the rates to be high - That should fall under Peak season.

DH and I spend last Spring Break at AKL (March 25-April 4) and we had a great time! The parks weren't that crowded. We utilized fast pass a lot but I think the longest line we stood in was 30 min at the Jungle Cruise. One morning we were able to see just about everything in Fantasyland in an hour. We were also able to change PS's and get the times we wanted - sometimes just a few hours before we wanted to eat.

Oooh - I just realized your dates are Easter week. That might change things. We were there two weekends before Easter.

Have fun!

The week before Easter (March 20-27) is more crowded than the week after. I paid $80 (an AP rate) for one night at POP this past Easter and then moved to BWV. I can't remember when the AP rate came out for this past Easter.
It is extremely crowded -- TestTrack had a normal 120+ wait and a lot of fastpasses were gone by early afternoon. The MK closed for a couple hours during the week and the waterparks were filled by 11-AM. However, the MK is open quite late and there are always two showings of Fantasmic, Spectro, etc. (Always go to the second show of anything.)

Good luck!

I posted on a thread recently that asked about a similar time -- Thanksgiving week. We went last year and it was quite busy, but we had a really nice time anyway. If you go in with realistic expectations, you'll have fun. My opinion is that ANY time is a good time to go to WDW. March has really lovely weather. There is little rain and the temps are usually perfect -- high 70's or low 80's in the daytime -- so it's glorious to be there when it is still winter back home. Colorful, fragrant flowers will be blooming. I like to say that going at Spring Break is like when Dorothy's house lands in Oz -- suddenly everything is in color! So I think even though your break unfortunately coincides with Easter, you can still have fun. Make some plans to swim, have some nice meals at the resorts, and tour around the resorts. Anything you can do away from the parks will make up for the crowds. Go to the parks early, or late. Use the fastpasses. It IS do-able! Unless you focus every minute of your trip around parks only, you can have a great time.

Also, despite the "peak" season, I would upgrade to a Moderate if you can afford to do so. I have heard here that the Value resorts at peak times can be crazy.

Have fun!
