Hi,

just 3 weeks! Wow - can´t wait! It will be our first time in WDW!
I´ll be there with my friend.

But I still have a few questions... hope you can help me.

We have no idea... whats the best way to drink in the parks.
At allears.net I read, that water is very expensive in the parks.

So what is allowed to take with you in the parks?
And whats your advice about drinking???
We have no kids with us... just two adults.
I read something drinking fountains .... what about that???

Thanx a lot

Frank

Water is expensive $2.50 a bottle. A good way to save is to buy one bottle each and just refill it each day when heading to the parks or refilling it in the water fountains in the park. And yes you can take them into the park w/ you! Have a great trip!

Where are you staying and/or coming from? I ask because if you are driving bring bottled water, if not then perhaps have it delivered from one of the grocers who does that. If you are staying at a deluxe then you can get a free fridge in your room (not sure about mod's and values - there may be a fee for it) and you can put the water bottles in the freezer part at night. They will melt as the day goes by the next day so you will have cold water for at least a while. I read this tip somewhere her on the DIS and plan on using it when we are there in October.

If it is a very warm day. Think about freezing the bottles of water you plan on taking to the park. They will thaw throughout the day and stay cold.

We come from Germany and will stay at AKL.
Where can we find these water fountains????

You can find water fountains all over the parks. Usually there is on located by every restroom.

There are water fountains located all around the parks, just take a look at your Park Map when you need one, they are usually located by restrooms.

We use a Camelpac Backpack it serves both as a waterpack and backpack.

We have even recieved Complimentry ice water in a cup to fill it from the CS places in the parks.

We did the freezing thing this week when we were there and it worked great. Another great thing is to get the crystal lite packs to dump in a bottle of water.

We got bottled water with our first CS meal (Tusker House), and then refilled them each night and refrigerated them.

I always bring a water bottle and fill it up. With all that Disney walking, water is the healthiest thing you can drink :drinking1

Water? Go to Epcot and have a margarita at Mexico. That is how to drink at the parks.

My son just got one of these last year to go to camp for kids with kidney disease. Not being real athletic, I didn't know anything about these things but they are SO COOL!!!! He's in Cub Scouts and was in a parade last weekend. I strapped it on him and he kept hydrated the entire way!!! It is DEFINITELY going with us to WDW in May!!!!! :thumbsup2

Oh, BTW, we drink WATER WATER WATER at Disney. :teeth:

We brought a case of water and used less than half of it as we kept refilling the same bottles. We bought the drink straps in the parks and carried the same bottles all week. At CS restaurants you can get free ice water which was colder than that at the drinking fountain.

I carried the Crystal Light packages and added it to the water. I have read that Kool-Aid has come out with the single serving packets and I will be looking for those for the kids and DH for the next trip who are not Crystal Light addicts like me.

Our next visit is at a mod so we will take advantage of the freezer portion of our fridge to freeze 1/2 water so we have ice for most of the day. We used our own soft sided cooler and put all the water bottles on ice every night.

I just saw the Kool-Aid packages today at Target. They were right next to the Cristay Light packages.

Drinks shoud be the last of your worries :) You can get free icewater from any vendor, all you need to do is ask. Also at epcot, there is a place where you can get free coca cola samples from around the world! When you are at your resort, buy a resort mug, it gives you free refills and is the best bang for your buck

Thanks Panna - Rats I was just at Target yesterday and didn't even think to look, I even bought Crystal Light - the 2 qt pitcher size.

Mental note to self.......Thanks

I plan on bringing a case of water with me to WDW since I am driving...I will only bring one water bottle a day into the parks for each of us though...I heard that we can just refill them at the water fountains and I bought the kool-aid packets (crystal lite will work too) to put in them to cover up bad tasting water (if it is) and we all don't like really cold water anyhow. I also heard that most all of the food stands will give you ice in a cup if you want it...don't know if this is true or not...I can't imagine Disney wanting to foot the bill for all those cups with only ice in them for free...maybe...I just don't know.

Anyhow...just thought I would add my 2 cents of what I was planning to do.
