What to do?

OK... I haven't been on as much as I have in the past and it seems there is ALOT of talk going on about the Contemporary rumor.

I just got the green light from hubby to get on the waitlist for some more points at BCV. (Although I know the wait could be really long...) But, with all this May 5th stuff I keep seeing on here...

What is the scoop? Should I wait to call my guide and put down the $500 deposit until I hear what is going on?

If the Contemporary had a presale that was tempting enough... It would have to be a presale price, though cause hubby is more excited about the Contemporary possibility than me. I won't pay some ridiculous price unless some major rehab work is done there, including that YMCA looking pool. You can walk to MK and that is about all that is cool to me there.

Plus, it just seems easier to keep all your points at one resort, one use year.

Does anyone know -
SSR gets a price increase first of June, is that right? Anyone know the new price? Will the older DVC resorts add on price per point be raised, too or will they stay the same? (Is it still $89 for BCV?) If you are waitlisted for an add on before the price increase, will you be guaranteed the old price?

Just talked to my guide this morning about a possible add on at VWL. She told me that when the price goes up for SSR, the sold out resort prices will also go up to $95 (the current price for SSR). I asked if I went on a wait list for VWL would I be guaranteed the $89/point price...she kind of laughed and said we would just have to see how quickly a VWL with our UY became available. She then went on to another subject and really never answered my question.

I know this info doesn't help a lot...maybe someone else can shed more light.

I can't imagine them announcing the Contemporary project now with so much of SSR still to be built.

Hmmm, might that in part explain the unusually heavy ROFRing Disney has been up to lately? If people think so, perhaps this should be cross-posted to the ROFR thread.

That is lame considering the shorter contract time. Plus, I just went and looked at resale prices...

I guess that gives them a good sale angle for comparing SSR when you call.

DVC will give you the resort rather than kept it - you may change your mind - or find a resale that you like better.

No I don't think DVC would intentionally kept any sold out resorts just to charge a higher price.

if the Cont is announced today - it will be a while before presales start - and then the presales will be the same price that SSR is now - not less.

so if you find a nice BCV contract go with it.

OKW, BWV, VB and HH were all sold at the same time for many years. So if the DVC wants to it can do this it could. I think it might be something else - there are several places in Florida around Orlando that have not recovered from the hurricanes. WDW/DVC might be waiting for that?????

I mean announcing another DVC when their neighbors have not gotten their houses fixed....

I know it is a different budget and everything that implies but I really want Pop Century to be finished. Especially if WDW does what the rumor mill says.
turn these rooms into kids suite like the HI does. that will stop all the complaints about WDW not having reasonable places for 5 or 6 people. Also will stop (I hope) some of the attitudes on the resort board about DVC.

Any possibilities of the CR DVC are so far away that I would go ahead and put yourself on the wait list for those point you want NOW. Hopefully they will come through quickly for you before any price increases.

I also anticipate, if it ever happens, that the CR will drive prices up more than the average inflation indicators, so hubby and I are looking to buy what we want now.
