What to do with small contracts extra points?

Sorry for the original confusion - I hope this post helps a little bit more.

Yes it does, thank you!

I took your information and applied it to an Excel spreadsheet (yeah, I know...geekboy here) just to see how points accumulate through the years. Even if we accept the first 2 banked points as lost (banked into 2007 from 2006, and not being able to use them), we'd have enough points to get an extra night in 2018. (Now, I just have to live that long. :rotfl2: )

Thank you again for explaining how this works!

Gotta love those spreadsheets!! :teeth: :teeth:

Don't forget, though - you can stay that "extra" night at any time, and then just "borrow" a few pts ea yr until you "catch up" again. (of course, I'm betting "add-on-itis" creeps in before then - lol)

Is the 11 month booking window that important? If not, and you already have a contract, I'd suggest sticking with what you have, and going over to the rent/trade board to find someone willing to transfer the exact number of points you need when you need extras.

i get more confused every time i try to figure this out. i have two different use years (not good) so i am thinking of selling one contract and buying more pts at a different resort but of the same use year as the one i am keeping. now it looks like you are telling me that i would still have problems even tho they would be the same use year. help!!help!!. will i ever be able to fix my misstake?

will it be necessary to sell everything and start all over again?

another question. if you can only transfer pts once a year, is that at the beginning or end of your use year or is it the beginning or end of the callender year????

I'm sorry, I don't truly understand all you are asking. I personally find two use years pretty easy and in some ways easier. While there may be advantages (and disadvantages) to having all under one master, no way is it worth selling and buying back again for that reason alone. Once you get comfortable with the concept, you'll be able to work it with little or no problems. If you'll spell out what you have, what you want to do and what's causing you problems I'm sure the good people of this board can help you figure out how to use this with little aggravation and certainly without going to the extreme to sell and buy again.
