Hi!We are off to WDW again this Jan/Feb.We are going to CRT at 8:30 way before check in at WL.I am on Copaxone for MS and it needs to be refrigerated. It will be somewhat cool that time of year, and this drug can be unrefrigerated up to 8 days.(in somewhat cool temps)My question is,will they store it for you in a frig at First Aid station??Also will there be a hassle bringing syringes into the parks?

Thanks alot!!!
Heidi

What are you doing with your luggage? Could you keep the med in a insulated bag with an ice pack. I'm sure they allow insulin needles into the park but I don't know if there is a special procedure. I'm pretty sure the First aid staion keeps insulin for folks. I never have needed to bring my injectables into a park.

Hi Nanajo1!!We will be arriving the night before staying off site.We will have a car so the luggage will be there until we check in.I hope they will keep it cold at the first aid station. It looks like I won't have accsess to a freezer to freeze an ice pack. But now that I think of it I could fill the insulated bag with ice at the hotel before we leave.

Thanks a bunch!!!!
Heidi

I am on Rebif, they sent me a cold pack with a special carrying case for travelling.
Could you possibly call Shared Solutions (I believe that is the support line/group for Copaxone users) and ask if a similar travel kit is available for your Copaxone.

Good hints.
I've never had the need, but I have read posts where people have stored medication in the refrigerators at First Aid. We have also been there when people came in to get the medication they stored there.
At the resort, you could ask if they would store it in a refrigerator behind the desk for you. Some people have been able to get a refrigerator free of charge when they needed it for medications, so it's worth it to ask. You can call WDW Resort Special Reservations:
(407) 939-7807
(407) 939-7670 [TTY]
to see.

Thanks everyone for the hints and advise.I never thought to call Shared Solutions :( I'll also give WDW assistance a call.
When I booked our room I played dumb ;) and asked what I can do with my meds. The CM gave me a frig at no charge. It says on the confirmation medical frig.
Thanks again!
Heidi

You did good, Heidi!
Here's some good trip Pixie Dust (with a little "extra energy" pixie dust and also a pinch of "don't overdo" pixie dust)

At the Poly we've often checked in early in the am long before our room is ready. They have always stored insulin for us until the room is ready. I imagine the same is true at all WW hotels. That's assuming you don't need access to it during your visit to the MK. We have also taken my DH&DS' insulin and syringes into the park using a redipack cooler...no problem at all. We do this if we're going to Epcot several hours before dinner.
