What to do with McD toys?

I put a box out at my garage sale .50 for unopened and sell a lot of them. The complete sets (especially the older Disney) I would put on Ebay.

I'm an elementary teacher and I would LOVE it if someone would donate McD toys to the classroom. I use them in my treasure chest. I'm sure you have a local teacher that would put them to good use.

we used to give those out as presents / treats on the peds ward when i worked as an inpatient nurse (in addition to stickers, etc). they could take them home.

Our local hospital did this when my daughter was admitted a couple years ago. She loved it, especially since she was pretty much confined to her bed as she was hooked up to oxygen for 3 days due to Asthma symptoms. It gave her something to do. Of course we got her a couple new things to play with too.

I like the idea of handing them out at Halloween if you celebrate that.

As far as value goes, it really depends on the actual toys in question. If you look on the bottom of the toy, you should see a copyright year (especially for any recent ones) Most toys from recent years sell at most for a buck or two as they are fairly common. Some have known errors which will obviously be worth more. Most older ones are usually under 5 bucks. And the really old one can be worth 10-20. Ones that are intact, with all their packaging, labels, etc are worth more. The things that usually have the greatest value however are usually the displays, boxes/bags, stuff like that. There are value guides you can use, your library might even have them to give you an idea of the value, or check for other similar items on eBay. Your best bet would be to find a local collector. Otherwise you would end up having to do alot of transactions for little profit each time.

Also, your local police department might want them? Sometimes a police officer will give a toy to a child when they have to respond to a call at the child's home. It really helps to calm a young child as well as present a better view of police to the child. ( I didn't say that well, but I hope you understand what I was trying to say.)

I've been to 50s style McDs that display them. Maybe write to corporate and see if they want them for that?

Also, dentist treasure chests if you want to give them away.

I'm a teacher and also use the unopened happy meal toys for my treasure box at school. The younger kids go crazy for the stuff in there.

DH used them when he coached football for the players of the week, same thing as the treasure chest.

We had received a whole box of them and I looked on ebay and it wasn't worth the 7 or so dollars (total) I could have made, but these were only about 10 years old :confused3
