Usually we're pretty good about using up all our points. Don't know what happened this time around. Anyway, looking at points that will expire soon. I don't think I can transfer them into RCI, even if I could I don't like dealing with RCI. Too difficult to get a reservation anywhere. I've seen people mentioning "renting" them out? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Definately rent them. they are a bit distressed (expiring soon, limited use time) so you will probably get $560-$730 pretty quickly.

Or, you could just do a last minute trip and go yourself...

At this point, renting them out would qualify as distressed points since they expire soon. You could contact Davids rental, but you would probably only get about $3 a point for them. That's better than nothing. You need to act soon before eveything is booked and no one can use them.

Never did this before. What's the in's and out's? How do I get the points from Disney to say someone like David's Rental? Never even thought one could do something like this. Thanks everyone!

You should consider offering them yourself on the DVC Rent/Trade Board.

You have enough points to make a nice reservation for someone and can likely get more for them than thru David's even though they are short notice points.

You might want to read the **How to use this Board** thread near the top for some suggestions, but it appears you will meet the posting requirement without any problem.

Basically, you will just be making a reservation in your renter's name using your points and this is the same whether you rent it yourself or through a broker like David's. You can make the reservation online and provide the reservation details to your renter. You would want to receive payment in full after sending the reservation details since time is of the essence.

Good luck! :teeth:

Definitely rent them out! Ive used David's three times and has worked out great. You could also do it yourself.

Davids may be a bit easier for a newbie renter. They will find a renter and give u the info to make a reservation in renters name. David will collect the funds and pay out to you.

Good luck!

I agree with Doc. It's fairly easy, but you definitely need to read through the information he mentions. It's easier now than when I first started renting out points because of being able to check availability online. You used to have to call MS to check every request, so it was at times fairly time consuming. I've 'met' some very nice people doing this and have had a number of repeat renters and/or inquiries, and have had some fun and interesting conversations and email exchanges. It's also kind of fun knowing that you helped someone have a fun DVC style vacation.

Best of luck.
