I have an extra park hopper pass that I was considering selling just for some extra spending money for the trip. I just want to make sure there are no restrictions as a dvc member to do that. Would it just be like selling a normal park hopper??

note: I'm not trying to sell it on here...i just want to make sure there are no restrictions to sell it elsewhere.

I believe it is illegal in FLA to resell theme park tickets.
If you are talking about an extra day on a used ticket, the ticket is tied to a fingerprint so no one else should be able to use it.
If you are talking about a one day ticket that was never used, I'm not sure. A buyer would have no way to know your ticket worked until they tried it at the gate (you cannot call to verify a ticket)

You might want to try upgrading it to non-expiring through the front gate. Valid Disney tickets used to seem like a great investment because of how much prices increased every year. Now it is not as good as you have to buy the non-expiring option.

it is a 5 day never used ticket.
Since it's never been used, there's no worry about it expiring, even if it doesn't have the no expiration option. Why not just keep it for a future trip?

You could also upgrade it to an AP or PAP if you plan to get one in the future. (Or you could apply its value to their renewal). You could even still get the DVC discount on the AP or PAP.

As already mentioned, it is not legal to resell Disney tickets, although some people do. My advice is to keep it and either use it yourself on a future trip or sell/f=give to a friend or family member traveling with you.

Thank You I was not aware that it is illegal to resell disney tickets. I probably will just save it for a future trip as you suggested. Thank You both for your help.

As Disney sees their need to raise ticket prices ( they always do) it's like putting money in the bank. It will make your future trips cheaper. :goodvibes

I thought it was only illegal to resell used theme park tickets.

I'm not sure what sort of ticket this is. Are there special park hoppers for DVC members??? :confused3 Or, do you mean you have an extra ticket as part of a room reservation or something?

Even unused tickets are non transferable though it's done a lot. One thing to keep in mind is that IF you decide to trade it in later, you will only be given the value you actually paid for it and not the value a 5 day ticket would cost at the time. I'd suggest you simply save it and use it when the time is right. Even if it takes you 10 years with a day here or there, you'll still be better off. In the interim you'll likely buy other ticket types along the way, just decide what's the best value for your situation.

I personally would hold on to it. Having the money would be nice but just think your next trip will be even cheaper.

Actually there is now a phone number you can use to check the number of park days remaining on a ticket. It is 407-566-4985; select option 2. I got this information off of a recent podcast. :3dglasses

Is this for Magic Your Way tickets too? Thanks

Nah.....didn't work. I just called. The guy said they have to run it through the scanner at the parks to check. Sorry.

As for reselling the ticket i believe it falls under state law and that would be based on your state of residence. You can look on eBay and i'm sure they're plenty to give you an idea of how.

It might be that you got a very busy (or cranky) CM. I used this number in May and the woman who answered was very helpful. She looked up my tickets and was able to find my lost ticket. I still had to go to guest services, but at least I knew what was left on the missing ticket, and could plan out what new tickets I needed for the trip ahead of time. I would try again. :thumbsup2

That is okay...we have AP's we are using this month and I plan on bringing these other tickets to have them checked for our Nov. trip.
