Hi all! Well now that we have booked our flight with Allegiant Air, we find ourselves with a whole extra day in Orlando....

We have to check out of AoA on the 15th but don't fly out of Orlando until the 16th at 3.....

Any suggestions on what to do? Also, any ideas about a kinda nice hotel we can stay in that night?

We are booked into the Ramada MainGate West (I think that is what its called) for the night we fly in but the reviews I am readind on that are not very good - so I thought maybe if we were going to need a whole day in a hotel before we fly home - we might try to make it a nice one :)

I don't know how much it would be to get an extra day of park tickets or if we should do something else with that day -

I would love any and all suggestions - I wasn't expecting this extra day but now I want to make the most of it :confused3

Ha! We just went through the same thing. I had to find rooms for the beginning and end of our trip (Dec 5 and Dec 13). I went with a night at the POP (boys choice) on the 5th and booked a studio (rented points) for Dec 13 (my choice). The prices for Disney jump up on the 13th, but DVC points remain low. There is very limited availability, but I would recommend trying to find availability for a studio (if you have 4 people). There are several people offering $9-$10/point right now on this site (DVC rent/trade board), so that comes out to $110-$160 (no tax) for most nights.

I wanted to end the trip on a high note, not a random hotel near the airport, KWIM? I ended up with Kidani, savannah view for $160. A night at Bonnett Creek would also be fun!

Now...our trip is just ridiculous. We are starting at POP (1 night), Beach Club (2 nights), BLT (5 nights in 2br with inlaws), and Kidani (1 night).

Adding a day of park tickets is no big deal (if regular tickets). It comes out to around $10/ticket/day assuming tickets are more than 5 days long. Just add it after you use them once, and within 14 days of start (see ticket sticky on other boards).

That is great information!!!! - I am going to look into the points for sure! I don't mind starting at the lesser hotel because we don't get in until 10PM and then we will just head right over to AoA after we are all up and dressed for the day - but it would be nice to end on a high note :)

Thanks! :cheer2:

Can you just add a night at AOA? That way you have the entire day to do as you please. Adding a day to your tickets is easy and not expensive at all. You could enjoy that entire last day, sleep in the next day, check out at 11:00, enjoy a nice lunch somewhere on site and then head to the airport. If you need to change resorts, choosing one on site is great as they will move your luggage for you!

If it were our family, we'd head to the beach we're total beach people and I'm trying to decide if it's worth skipping a day at DTD to get us to the beach. I'm not sure yet. I'm betting dh will vote yes. ;)

TBH, I'd just use Expedia or something to get a rate on a cheap room if you're not going to stay at the park. Usually stuff around the airport is pretty cheap and you can get a high star hotel for less than $100.

another night at AoA is just too expensive, lol - but I am thinking that another Disney resort might work!

was going to look at the other suggestion of renting points...to see what that could get us!

Thanks! I had thought about the beach but this trip is getting out of control money wise and I am starting to get a little bit queasy at the costs adding up so we no longer are going to have a car - which also makes me queasy, lol - so we will have to rely on Disney transpo and then find something cheap to get us to and from the airport

Why not do a night before and after at a value (Pop would be right next door)? Then you can use magical express and not have to worry about transportation at all, since you're ditching the car.

I am definitely working on that - but Disney doesn't do transpo to or from our airport as far as I can tell - we are out of Sanford/Orlando - not MCO - so I am trying to figure out how to get us there and back

Yeah, that won't work, then. You'll work it out. Have a great trip!
