What to do with extra 12 points?

The resale contract we purchased had all of its 2003 points banked, all of its 2004 points and 48 borrowed points from 2005. The banked and borrowed points must be used by 9/30/05(October UY). The total of these points is 192 (plus our 150 2004 points). We will be using 70 points to go to BWV in June and 110 points for a HH stay in late August. That leaves us with 12 extra points. We can't fit them into either stay b/c we are traveling Sun.-Fri. and 12 points isn't enough for weekend stays at either resort.

So, I don't really want the 12 points to go to waste. Any ideas on what to do with them?

Rent them out. I did that with an extra 8 that we had when we got our resale!

Rent or donate them - you might have to add a few current year 2004 points with them to reserve whole nights.

What use year is the 12 left? Could you bank them? If they are 2004 points, you can still bank them with an October use year.

The effort of finding a renter, negotiating terms, making a reservation and various follow up afterwards wouldn't be worth it to me - I'd just let the 12 points expire.

I would try to find another member to transfer the points to, though. That's a lot easier thing to do. All you have to do is find the other member who wants more points, agree on a payment, make a call to MS (to transfer the points to the other member's account) and collect the payment. Done. Relatively easy and not a lot of time invested to get around $100.

I have 10 points left for the year, and if you still have the 12 points, I'll take them. That would give me a stay in a studio for 1 to 2 days. Are the points gone?
