I have a few ADR's with my daughter for our upcoming vaca week, but have a few ?'s. If she wants to stay and enjoy the park :rolleyes1 can I cancel that same day, or will they still charge me the full rate? or a reduced rate?
Can anyone tell me how it works with canceling an ADR the same day? I was just wondering if they still charge you, and if you can tell me how much? Since it is just the 2 of us (down from 5 :sad2:) she may not want to stop what she is doing to go to an ADR. We have BOG, Ohana, Sci-Fi Diner, and Nia Napoli scheduled throughout the week.
Thank you so much for the info and support! :)

It's a $10 per person fee for cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to your ADR.

I thought you had to cancel 24 hours in advance or you get charged. Meaning you have to cancel by 10:00 I think if you are calling by phone or 11:59 if you do it online. Definitely will be a charge if you cancel the same day

May I just suggest calling the Disney dining and asking them directly. That way you won't run the risk of getting charged due to misinformation.

I would think though that you would want to keep the dining reservations if it is busy there next week which it most likely will be due to Spring Break. These restaurants are worth putting your fun on hold for the dining experience and then picking the fun back up afterwards. You may have trouble getting a table at other times without the ADR's so keeping them may be the key. By the way, did you adjust your reservations down from 5 to 2? You may want to ask the Disney Dining people about that as well if you haven't.

Good luck.

It's not 24 hours, it's 11:59pm the day before. So you would have to decide the night before.

You can cancel your dining reservation online or by calling (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463 up to 11:59 PM Eastern Time on the day before your arrival. Guests under 18 years of age must have parent or guardian permission to call.

Some restaurants may charge a fee for cancellations or no shows. Each restaurant at Walt Disney World Resort maintains its own cancellation policy, so be sure to check the policy when you are making your reservation.

For more information, please refer to the cancellation policy provided in your email confirmation.

So I'm curious about another scenario maybe someone has come across.

My BOG reservation is at 8:10 pm. I realize I'm so lucky to even have been able to get it 2 months out when I booked my late April trip in feb. But I wanted to see Wishes at 9 pm and I think timing is too tight w the 8:10 pm ADR.

If an earlier ADR pops up on the same day. Should I reserve it and explain my situation or do you think I'd be charged for canceling one of the ADRs?

Yes, I did change our reservations down from 5 to 2. My daughter is just so upset that her BFF isn't coming with us anymore, but I tried to keep some of the same ADR's into our plans. Hence she may not be as into say Ohana as she was before, also she is such a picky eater so she will be eating salad and pasta no matter where we eat.
I have been told we would be charged $10 per person for canceling, and another friend who frequents told me we wouldn't because someone else would be able to fit in. I do know if you are a no-show you are charged the full amount. Thats why I figured I would ask what other peoples experiences were.

You can switch times and if for some reason you get charged, tell them about the switch.

On Feb. 25, at 12:30 a.m., I happened to check and SciFi was available. I went in and canceled my Prime Time ADR but because the confirmation didn't show up on MDE, I waited for the email confirmation. I made the ADR for SciFi at 7:30 a.m., day of, for a 3:00 lunch ADR and was never charged for canceling Prime Time.

Ok thanks for your info!

I have been told we would be charged $10 per person for canceling,

If you cancel before the deadline there is no charge. In most cases the deadline is before midnight the day before, but a few places have a 2 day cancellations deadline. If you cancel the same day as the reservation then you would be charged $10 per person.

and another friend who frequents told me we wouldn't because someone else would be able to fit in.

Not true. The cancellation penalty is not related to whether or not the restaurant fills the table with another party.

I do know if you are a no-show you are charged the full amount. Thats why I figured I would ask what other peoples experiences were.

The prepaid reservations (CRT, 3 Dinner shows) will charge the full pre-payment amount if you don't cancel before the deadline and then don't show up. For the regular TS restaurants it will be $10 per person.
