We have over 8 mo untill our trip! I was thinking of trying to pass the time by planning one disney event a month. This mo we are going to disney on ice (we go every time so d on ice could hopefully take up 3 mo) One mo maybe going to the disney store and buying disney light up toys (alot cheaper than buying them in the parks) oh of course in june seeing the movie CARS any other idea would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Not sure how old your children are but you could do different project days. Maybe make family t-shirts to wear, make autograph books to take using scrapbook paper make a trip to your local craft store I know AC Moore has Disney paper and stamps, if any girls make princess hats or hairbands to wear. An idea of the age of the children would help me.

We have always made the planning and counting down almost as big a deal as the actual trip. Typically, we book a year in advance. I purchase the Disney peel a day calendar and list our countdown day on each page with a little note "88 more til we knocking on Disney's door" etc.... Then on each significant date - 100 days, 50 days etc... I give out Disney gifts - inexpensive items from the Disney Store, sunscreen, waterbottles, disposable cameras etc... as the trip gets closer. We have planning PJ parties, where we watch the Planning Video or shows from the Travel Channel, I print out menus from restaurants and we get to vote on where to eat, etc... It passes the time.
My daughters are now 20 and 22 and they still look forward to the pre-Disney goodies. This year my significant other and I are taking both sets of "kids" - age range 9 to 24 for 8 days at the end of May. We have having a "get to know you;planning"PJ party during semester break. Doug and his kids are getting a kick out of my obsessive planning - we hope to lure them over to the Disney Obsessed dark side!!!
