We are looking to book flights and will have time on our last day before a red eye out of Long beach. The plan is to spend the night in Anaheim as we hope to do California adventure. Any ideas. We have 3 boys: ages 7,5, and 1.5

It is not clear how much time you will have before the red eye. Downtown Long Beach has lots of shopping and eating. There is also the Queen Mary where you can kill a few hours, as well as the aquarium.

How much time? If traffic isn't too bad (no guarantees since I've been stuck in LA area traffic many times) then the California Science Center and the Space Shuttle Endeavour is about a half hour from Long Beach Airport.

A timed ticket is included if you purchase an IMAX movie ticket. Otherwise it's a $2 "service fee" for anyone at least 4. Parking is $10 and I don't suggest trying to save by finding street parking in the nearby neighborhood. The museum itself (which doesn't charge admission except for the Space Shuttle exhibit) can be a huge time killer for kids, with lots of hands on exhibits as well as a small aquarium.

we did the Aquarium prior to our flight home, was an enjoyable day
