I'm planning our first DLR trip for June 2-7 - HOORAY!! Thanks to all of you on this board who already have made planning a BREEZE. I have a question . . . we will arrive on Saturday, June 2. We land at SNA around 1:00, so I'm guessing/hoping we'll get to our hotel (GCH) and get settled by 3:00 and will be ready to hit the parks. Any suggestions on how to spend the afternoon? We do have park tickets for that day, even though it'll just be partial day. My oldest DS (8 years old) will be DYING to ride rides, so walking around checking out the sights will NOT be an option for him :) Any suggestions on good, fun rides that won't have horrific lines when we arrive that late in the day? I believe there is a block on annual passholders that day, which I'm hoping will help with the crowds.

Thanks!!

We like to start with Jungle Cruise and Pirates that late in the day. Or maybe hit DCA, you should still be able to get some FPs.

If you went the JC and POTC route, you could also stop by the Tiki Room, Tarzan's Treehouse, HM, and maybe do a riverboat cruise without much of a wait.

We arrive for our first DLR visit on Sunday June 3rd. See you around the parks!:cool1:

Perfect day to get your bearings. If i arrived at 3pm with a newbie to DLR, I would:

- Exit the GCH via DTD, thru security & to the turnstile at DL. (yeah, i know you could go thru the private entrance & do DCA the first day, but you gotta go to Walt's park & read Walt's plaque as you walk under the arch. This should be done first. :thumbsup2

- Then (like every other WDW vet) you walk thru the arch, laugh at the characters, check out Walt's apt. in the firehouse, glance at buildings left & right......then you look down Main St. & exclaim out loud....."WHERE IN THE HECK DID THEY PUT THE CASTLE". ;)

- But those of us who prefer Walt's park love our cute & tasteful little castle as opposed to the McMansion in the swamp. :)

- Then I'd nab a SM or Indy FP (whichever has a return that is workable). If neither is workable, walk over to BTMRR & grab one there.

- Then rides to do that won't have LONG lines, would include (as others have said): Pirates, Jungle Cruise, snag a Dole Whip at the Tiki Room (inside line of course ;)). Then maybe Buzz Lightyear, definitely Pinocchio, maybe Roger Rabbit (or grab a FP), Storybookland (if there isn't a line), IASW or even Nemo (if there's no line).

- At some point HOP 100 yards over to DCA.....which is ON YOUR WAY BACK INTO THE GCH.....maybe ride on Monsters, Heimlich (or TOT or Soarin if there isn't a line) & finish up on a wet & wild ride on GRIZ rapids. (why not get wet....you're 2 minutes from your room at the GCH).

That would be a good start. :yay:

Have fun.

:cool2:

I would go to POTC, HM, Thunder Mountain Railroad, Pooh, and then Splash!

Bumping and hijacking...wondering the same thing.

We will probably get to the parks around 12 or1 on Friday June 8th.

Thinking about seeing WOC that night but would like early show since we will do MM the next day. Any chance of still getting FP at that time?

Thanks! :)
